Re: New campaign
Am I the only one getting a bit depressed at seeing the latest new "features"--quantum pass and now an extra premium campaign tier? Feels like they're desperate for some influx of cash...

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
1) 20 Shuttle missions.
Easy, I can manage 24 shuttles in a day easily. At a success rate of 90%, this should give me 21-22 successes, a bad day maybe 18-20. This is where those stacks of skill boosts would help.
2) 20 Arena wins in Admiral division.
Very hard. It would mean no problems with the RNG, and timing. In addition sometimes battles go wrong, poor connection and the game disconnects, etc.
Even then I will only try it, if I am not playing for the schematics that month, so I can tank my rank in the few days before.
4) spend 400 chrons.
Easiest, I can do this without worrying whilst doing the dailies.
3) 50 Gauntlet wins. Doable if you are aiming for wins and streaks, instead of aiming to do well in the two gauntlets that event. Again as AviTrek said, it encourages gameplay which is against the spirit of the game.
If the event starts on a Tuesday, then load up the gauntlet on the Monday, choose your crew, but don't play any rounds. By Tuesday, you should be at the bottom of the rankings, with players trying to do well. You should be able to get a streak of 20 wins by choosing the easiest, and lowest point rounds, on the first cooldown 4-hour period of the day. The rest of the day should net at least 10-20 wins.
The second day will give a new gauntlet where you can start at the bottom again.
To improve chances of winning rounds, you need to score as little as possible per round, and hope other players win against you, taking your points down, so you get the easiest matches.
One way to do this is to build a hole in your team.
Choose a team with five crew all with the primary skill, and two or three skills not represented at all, or very poorly represented, so that other players target you if they see you.
Or choose a team with four or five skills evenly represented, and the primary skill not represented at all.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
As a more “experienced player” (level 99) I have played every day for four years. I have never won all 10 battles in one day let alone consecutively two days. This is like having community rewards set at 10 trigintillion; it does not encourage participation. It is also a bad sign that many intend to tank arena battles so that they can a realistic chance to get a citation. It is like watching a sport from halfway through the season tank to get the number one draft choice. This is so dismal for the fans that to discourage this the NBA has a “play in" game for the truly dismal and a lottery process for the inept. It’s a bad strategy for basketball and for the game.
Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
I think you would almost have to buy tickets. Even if you avoid Ardra's crazy critical, any battle can have crits and you're done in Admiral arena. The odds of that not happening in 20 tries is tiny.
So then you'd have to decide (assuming you completed the gauntlet or can/will) if 150 dil is worth a premium portal pull and a purple citation. And the answer is probably?

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
Yeah, the gauntlet goal looks tough but doable to me, but winning 100% of arena battles over two days...the only way I see that happening is if I were to utterly trash my arena ranking beforehand, and even then it's not a sure thing.
I agree with AviTrek - I like the idea of objective events and was excited to see this new one - I'm at the midlevel of play where 4* cites and beholds are still quite useful, with only about half the 4* crew FF. But I'd rather have challenges that encourage me to play well than to tank/delay play.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
So I guess the plan is that we should spend dilithium for arena tickets and gauntlet refreshes? As an endgame player I'll say that's not worth it to me. The pack will almost surely be all honor, and I have more 4* cites than I really need.
As a general feedback, I'll say that I prefer the longer objective events that you can play a bit when you want, time-wise. I definitely don't like when I have to be on a schedule during the workweek, for instance to make sure I miss no gauntlet refreshes.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
@Shan
Sorry, but this event seems not to be "specifically tailored towards more seasoned players". It is specifically tailored towards players that want to pay during the event to achieve these goals.
If that wasn't the intention, then it should be corrected.
And the rewards are only slightly better than for the "normal" objective event. So, that's a hard pass from me as a level 99.
One additional thought: This game is very heavy on randomness - sometimes quite weird randomness. Therefore, a task like "X gauntlet wins" is way more frustrating than a task "Y gauntlet battles". Because the "win task" makes it even more frustrating to suffer the unevitable loss despite 2:1-superiority that the gauntlet provides so often. And I guess the new event should not be intended to increase the thoughts about quitting the game.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
I am really beginning to loathe this game, especially the objective events. I like the month-long ones, where everything essentially gets done in the background over time, just from playing the game daily. What I don't like about weekly OE is that now every day of the week I feel like I'm not playing the game how I want to play it, but rather being forced to do the exact same thing as every other player. It's no fun. It's boring and repetitive.
I echo the sentiments above that OE have completely ruined the new 4* crew introduced each week. Since OE started I no longer use the 4* crew in the event they are featured in, since I wait until the event is over to level, fuse, immortalize, and freeze them. They are a complete waste and go directly from claiming to freezing - what's the point?
Initially this new OE looked half-decent thanks to prizes that at least have the potential to be useful (or just 700 honor), but having to not just play but WIN 20/20 arena battles & 50 gauntlet battles in 48 hours just seems ridiculous. As with everything WRG has introduced since they took over, this is just one more thing "for the players" that is nothing more than a barely veiled cash grab (don't even get me started on the super-premium campaign track). Keep milking the cash cow and watching veteran players walk away.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
I did the same, and while at first I was worried everyone would do the same, I realized that if we all do this, even during the event, it will be the best for all (do the battles with the best ship, leave the worst so others can win)The minute I saw this objective I removed all my crew and switched to a weaker ship in arena. Hopefully I drop levels so it'll be easier to win battles during the event.

Re: Midweek Event Unleashed - feedback thread
I agree with others that Arena seems an unlikely task to succeed at, even at Level 99 like I am.
So in the spirit of the cooperation of the Federation, during the time period of this event, look for me in Admiral Arena. I'll be the Level 1 ship with no crew slots filled. (Doing the exact opposite of what a player should be doing...)
