New Gauntlet crew

Hi,
I guess Armus is now tired after such a long time as gauntlet crew head.
More than a year.
Maybe it's time to change ?

  • Yep i agree. But this time create a poll of possible characters first maybe?

How about Flint? I can see a case for either COM/MED/ENG, COM/MED/SEC, or COM/ENG/SEC. The special crew have featured those skills rather sparingly and COM could use a new definitive #1 for proficiency.

    The Cytherian. ENG/ DIP/SCI
    Kevin Uxbridhge. SEC/SCI/MED
    Red Angel. SEC/ENG/SCI
  • Good way to add Gary Mitchell to the game. COM/SCI/SEC or COM/SCI/ENG.

    Maybe Charlie X ?
But a poll is a great idea.

They couldn’t get the rights to his likeness

I wonder if that is why we haven't seen the Roger Carmel version of Harry Mudd?

That is entirely possible. I will always remember that guy as the friend of Mr. Firley who pretended to be a rich oil guy, then Mr. Firley pretended he was married to Chrissy

I've been working on this problem conceptually for a while, I think I have a pretty solid idea for who the next Gauntlet 5* reward crew should be.

    Karden, Kazon Ogla.

    yo47wiwmdhkd.jpg

    SECURITY: high proficiency
    COMMAND: fairly robust proficiency
    ENGINEERING: medium proficiency

I won't even pretend to come up with actual numbers, but IMO the above formula is the best available given the four Gauntlet crew that already exist, for these reasons:

    1. Three of the four current Gauntlet crew have Security as the low skill, but none of them have even a medium Security score. Locutus has a fairly strong Security score, but it is his weakest, so I'm counting it.

    2. His Command is his next highest score because of the four existing, only one has Command, that being Armus, and his is at the medium level, so adding a second Command helps balance that out.

    3. Karden has Engineering third because Caretaker needs competition as he being the only Gauntlet crew with a strong Engineering score makes him very dominant. Thematically it does not make sense for Karden to have a strong Engineering score, but his knowledge of Kazon weapon systems, shuttles, force fields, communicators, etc gives him enough to warrant having the skill, and with two stronger skills he will in theory be able to hang with Caretaker on Eng/Sec and Eng/Com, and if Karden has a decent crit bonus he may be able to take on Caretaker directly on Eng/X where neither has the second skill.

    4. Three of the four Gauntlet crew are from TNG, so adding Karden helps equal that out. Yes he would be the second from Voyager, but Voyager is generally underrepresented so it works.

    5. It would be a way for fans to properly celebrate the life of Aron Eisenberg after his sudden passing a few months ago (R.I.P. sir).

    6. It would finally give us a 5* Kazon crew.

Someone like Travis will probably remember better, but I do believe the family of Roger Carmel has likewise refused to negotiate for use of his likeness. Which is a bummer...I would unload everything I have on any event type or Tuesday pack if there were a real Harry Mudd to be had (Rainn Wilson’s version only really felt right in his Short Trek and therefore doesn’t count).

Yep, it was nixed by his estate. Still hoping they'll change their minds. Agreed on your other point, though — nothing against Rainn, who I've liked in numerous things... I just thought it was bad casting, though his Short Treks appearance came the closest to the spirit of the original. But I'm not sure anyone could have followed the brilliant flamboyance of Roger C. Carmel.

Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

Just saw this in his Wikipedia article, which made me sad about what might have been...
According to a letter column in the first volume of the monthly DC Comics Star Trek comic book, Carmel was slated to reprise his role as Harry Mudd in a first-season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but died before filming could commence.

I can only imagine how much fun even an aging Mudd would have had with Picard. :(
  • Here's a suggestion for a new Gauntlet character
    ua8jqvbzc8oe.jpg

From the first ever Start Trek Post Credit scene, Short trek episode Trouble with Edward
She's the main character of the first ever Start Trek Post Credit scene ever, she must be Legendary! She gets her well deserverd place in the Gauntlet Exclusive Crew ranks

Command, Commanding a starship is tough but its nothing compared to running a family
Medicine, Just check a womens bag. 100% you'll find bandaids and paractamol, etc. And lets not forget that a kind word heals more than then the best drug
Science, Cooking is science, mixing ingedients to a wonderfull substance
    or
Engineer, all those devices needed to run a household takes a lot of engneering skills

    Traits
    Human, obviosly
Jury-Rigger, a basic quality of every caring person
Innovator, you gotta keep your kids challenged
    Tribbler, just look
Mother, not sure she is but lets asume
Brutal, feeding tribbles for breakfast is cruel for both kids and tribbles
Recourcefull, every parent knows this is quality 1 after loving
Inspiring, try not to be and see if you are succesfull with kids
    etc.

One thing: She doesn't have a name. Ill leave it up to you to baptise her in a way her savage character is rightly expressed.

What do you think, is she up to it?

    HUNGRY KIDS AGREE!

  • Lets hope the Picard in Locutus doesn’t hear this. No kid will be safe i fear 😰
  • Ok so the Tribble Gauntleteer position goes to Koloth and Korax. Stuck in a pile of tribbles is funny I’ll give you that.
  • New chances! How about that Ferengy who isn’t a Ferengy at all. Starring in DISCO season 4. I’m talking about Haz Mazarin of the Karma Barge Casino!

Rene Picard is for Picard season2, what the Red Angel was for Disco season2. Sooooo, maybe we should opt for a bride next to Armus. 88jscpxrzm8x.jpeg

I’m sure Q would love to see his protégé make an appearance in his Gauntlet.
