Re: DISCUSSION: NEW Specialist event - Video Walkthrough with the Devs
If the desired result is to see more player engagement, make the game fun to play rather than tedious. These tappy tappy events are more work than fun. I get that plenty at my job.
The main reason there is any engagement now is due to the Star Trek theme.

For the record, I was very wrong about this! I pulled some credit packs to get some level 1 1*s and they would take longer to complete the mission than is available in a four day event (let alone a two day beta or indeed event phase).
I can't upload my screenshots (the upgraded forum doesn't seem to like my mobile) but the longest times I got were 135h01m for Lt. Jadzia Dax on both Clouded Vision and Geometric Perfection, followed by 130h39m for Ensign Ogawa on Brittle Crystal and 122h04m for Will Riker on Gateways of Discovery.
We're trying to squeeze 5 Bajoran days into 4 Earth ones here.
Re: Gorgan OE starts tonight. Quick random question.
Another OE event which is Federation Shuttles, Enterprise 1701, level a TOS crew.
Can we mix these OE events up a bit, change the ship and Faction for shuttles.

Re: DISCUSSION: NEW Specialist event - Video Walkthrough with the Devs
Well to put this succinctly: This **tsk tsk**. It's a bald faced chron grab with not even the benefit of farmed items. The timers are too short which I assume is by design {one hour-ish isn't long enough to walk away for much of anything) forcing the use of chrons. And the chron costs, while they are relatively low, over the course of a four day event, are quite like being nibbled to death by ducks.
There's no strategy. This will be by far the most Pay-to-Win event sytle we will have.
Come guys. You can do better than this.

Re: DISCUSSION: NEW Specialist event - Video Walkthrough with the Devs
The percentage chance of "bonus mission progression" changes by how many traits are filled. But what isn't very clear is what causes there to be a percentage in the first place; I think, though don't know how to confirm, it's if someone has the Federation trait or are the other event crew.
The percentages don't even make sense. I've run ones where the character had a 0% chance of bonus mission progression and the character still moves it by 15%, so I don't even know what's going on with this.
Re: DISCUSSION: NEW Specialist event - Video Walkthrough with the Devs
Regarding crew availability, will crew members assigned to voyages and shuttles be unavailable for Specialist events, like they are for Galaxy events, or will they still be available, like during Skirmish events?
In Galaxy events, I might have to protect 3 or 4 crew from other assignments, but this looks like it might impact 10 - 12, based on depth and skill mix. If I have to be careful not to assign Specialist crew to voyages or shuttles, that might get very frustrating balancing all of those conflicts, and reduce participation.

Great, more babysitting required. And it's even WORSE than the existing babysitting events because all the timers are different.
If you think the time variation is interesting for strategy, then how about letting us preplan it? Give us a schedule for the next 12 hours or whatever, and let us say "when this crew is done with this mission, swap in this other crew on the next mission, then some other crew on the mission after." Then the strategy can actually be about optimizing the schedule and we can go have a life...
"Push two buttons every 20 minutes on average for a whole weekend" does not sound fun or engaging to me...

Re: 11.1.0 Client Release Feedback Thread
instead of seeing how many slots are unlocked I would like to see the acutal Q-experience level.
I'm currently keeping track in an excel sheet, because I'm holding crew back at 75/100, 175/200, 475/500 and 1275/1300 to save them for the Q-Events, where you need to unlock 20 slots in 2 weeks.

Re: Roadmap Snapshot - 2025.02.27
New Server? After so many years getting almost every crew immortal and you expect me to start over? Ohhh no. I'd never ever do that. It's a slap in the face to the long time players who have invested some coin and a lot of time and effort into getting where they are. Just saying, bad idea. Most of the dedicated player base will leave and stt 2.0 will flop and flail. Heck I only still play because I'm in it too deep to quit.
