Re: Have Hybrid Events now proved to be too biased to one phase over the other?
Hybrid's have always been terribly unbalanced. But they never seem to care. I doubt anything will change now.

Re: Have Hybrid Events now proved to be too biased to one phase over the other?
I took it far easier in the first phase (faction) than I normally do, figuring I wasn't really shooting for rank and wanted to conserve my merits. After clearing thresholds early in phase two (specialist), I was surprised to see how high I was ranked. I wound up playing phase two more than I expected (or wanted to), just to pop into the top-750 to secure a second copy of the new 5* Boimler.
It was crazy how much I would jump each time I cleared one of the 30k bonus rewards. I think I wound up spending around 6k chrons, which was less than I'd spend in a galaxy to finish that high.
The specialist events are still terrible, but better than voyage events, IMO. I'm not looking forward to the upcoming voyage/specialist hybrid. I won't aim for more than thresholds, if even that... I really have no motivation or desire to invest any time in that hybrid. Good luck to those that do enjoy those event types.

Re: Have Hybrid Events now proved to be too biased to one phase over the other?
Skirmish hybrid events have always been heavily biased in favour of the skirmish phase, where you can hit threshold in a couple of hours. Makes the other phase completely redundant, as any contributions are drowned out.
Specialist hybrids are even worse, as you can hit threshold in under 10 minutes. Any contribution in the other phase is completely pointless. This was all pointed out during the specialist beta events, but as per usual all critical feedback has been completely ignored.

2025.06.04 Roadmap Snapshot + Review

As we look toward the latter half of the year, we’d like to review our previous roadmap and provide some insights into the future of development.
Looking at what we committed to, back at the end of February, we have gotten further ahead of our goals while adding a second Specialist beta as well as the integration of new Quipment into our content cadence. We plan to continue the Quipment releases monthly as well continuing to make smaller adjustments to events via server updates and further bug fixes in clients as needed, but we are considering our major development effort of event work completed.
With all that being said, let’s take a look at what we are promoting to development and what we’ll be working on next.

COMING SOON
Player’s Choice Month!
The results of the Player’s Choice Survey are coming into the game this week. You’ll accompany T’Pol and Captain William Boimler as they put their minds to the anomaly crisis. As voted on by players, we’ll also be adding J’Gal Chapel to the Honor Hall, Valeo Beta V Pike as a Giveaway Objective Event Crew, and Picard’s Artificial Heart as a free Avatar.
New Gauntlet Crew
A duplicitous Klingon Scientist will be finding their way into the Gauntlet soon.
Series-based Collection
Ready your Pikes and crew to prepare for the next collection featuring this series as we prepare for the release of season three.
More Quipment
Over the past few months we have integrated Quipment into our release cadence. Our strategy with the Quipment release was to blend a mix of Quipment that target older crew that could use a little lift as well as some new crew to help some stand out for player’s looking for more refined power targets in crew. We’ll continue to explore this and looking ahead we will be targeting significant Klingons, a Starfleet Captain with a penchant for collecting things, inspiring innovators, and physicians pioneering their way through the galaxy!
Objective Event / Giveaways
We will continue our Objective Event and Crew Giveaways with a budding young warp theorist and a hobbyist exoarcheologist.
New Trait + Collection
Heading into the fall, we plan on releasing another trait and collection. Look for some all powerful beings across the trek cosmos to pick up some extra power.
Honor Hall Crew
A certain someone left in charge of a space station of some renown enters the honor hall later this year.
IN DEVELOPMENT
Star Trek Day Celebration
Star Trek is turning 59 years young this year and we aim to celebrate it with giveaways, a mega-event and more! Lots of work to bring to life crew across series new and old to celebrate this holiday.
Rotating Feature Shop
We have escalated the Featured Exclusive Crew Acquisition item from concept to development as the Rotating Feature Shop (name not final). to focus on a new rotating shop feature for Gauntlet + Voyages. The current concept features a seasonal shop where players will be able to earn a variety of rewards including the Feature Exclusive Crew. Players will earn a new token in Gauntlets and Voyages to unlock rewards from this new shop.
As part of this feature development we are also looking at some optimizations in Gauntlet and Voyages including some alternate scheduling for Gauntlets and additional ways to interact with a Voyage’s anti-matter.
Store Quality of Life
With our next major feature development effort we are looking at improving the existing store experience including:
- Crew Info Available at Store Level
- Remembering Speed Preference
- New Pack Reward Moment
- Store UI re-organization
CONCEPT
New Fleet Boss Battle
We’re brewing up a new Fleet Boss Battle to bring fleets in Timelines. Expect to see a familiar enemy on the offensive with new in-battle mechanics to bring forth new strategies when facing the new boss! We’ll also be adding incentives to completing the Doomsday Machine to help newer players make progress along the way of defeating this new enemy while unlocking progress on a new Captain’s Bridge, Buffs and Exclusive Rewards.
STT Ten-Year Celebration
January of 2026 marks the tenth anniversary of Star Trek Timelines. Throughout the back half of this year, we’ll be reaching out to players, developers, and partners of all kinds to tell stories of their time playing this game. Ten years is a milestone achievement and we aim to celebrate it with Saurian Brandy in hand!
Convergence Day 2026
In step with the above, we’re planning some fun characters and stories for our Convergence Day Mega-event next year. Our ultimate goal is to be able to fuse these concept items together. To aim to do anything else would be futile.
LLAP,
-The Star Trek Timelines Team

Re: Discussion Thread for Mega Event: Alternate Universe - From June 5th 2025
2k chrons is nothing compared to the cost of a skirmish or galaxy event, and is much less than a day's income assuming that you're completing your dailies and running voyages. As far as I'm concerned, it's a tiny price to pay for not having to put up with the most annoying event type in the game (voyages, just for clarity).

Not my beautiful Romulus!!!
It should be noted that Romulus was destroyed in the Prime timeline sometime in the late 24th century and not in the Kelvin timeline. That was the entire reason Nero was in and created the Kelvin timeline. He felt the Federation and Vulcan response was too slow and blamed Spock. He destroyed Vulcan and was going to destroy Earth because he wanted revenge.
Prime timeline: no Romulus in the 24th century.
Kelvin timeline: no Vulcan in the 23rd century.
Re: Kelvin Timeline
Despite having just acquired the rights to Discovery, I absolutely believe that DB would jump at the chance to have the Abrams-verse Trek stuff in the game. But I also absolutely believe that either said rights are either far too expensive to consider, or the people who decide such things have no desire to license their characters to a mobile or online game. However, I do think that if STT sticks around long enough, it will probably happen, as one or both of those two things will eventually change.
And just as with the addition of TAS and DSC characters (whose prospective additions ruffled the feathers of many here when those ideas were still speculative), players will adjust. Some may indeed leave, but others will take their place... like the hydra that grows two heads in place of the one that was cut off.
