These are two different shoes. I noticed the decline too, reasons whatever.Kim_Novak.II wrote: »This forum has one foot in it's grave.

May this situation be as it is, but it doesn't change that Discord is awful to use. It's a waste dump for a fast-living throwaway-generation. No purposive discussion possible, and everything goes to the bottom of a black hole, never to be seen again.
Why bother wasting your time for something like Discord? A forum is clearly arranged and users can create threads on topics they think are worth a discussion. Those Discord channels have only a dumpsite character. The scant channels are only opened by the developer or publisher. Perfect situation to occupy users and letting them waste their time. Perfect for giving them an illusion.
When everything goes fast enough to the ground, you even needn't to moderate the litter out of the channel. It goes fast enough out of sight. Even other things pubs and devs don't wanna see, because chances are good things are pushed to the ground by posts coming in like bullets from a gatling gun.
Steam forums are bad by forum standard,
but Discord is even worse. If a game maker creates too little subforums for their AAA IP on Steam, threads can be gone fast too. But users can create them and fish them later back up without wasting their written posts for nothing. Posting is always a doubtful waste of time, but on Discord there is no doubt. Only darkness.
Re: Time for a crewslot sale?
In my humble opinion Discord is inferior to a classic, good structured forum. If I didn't play-test alpha and beta versions of big publishers' games (Windows IPs), I wouldn't even use it. But I can't circumvent it, and thus I have to give feedback via it.~peregrine~ wrote: »You could check the company's Discord server, where they apparently plan to announce such things in advance:
Time for a crewslot sale?
Hi Team,
Isn't it about time for a crewslot sale? Also increasing the maximum crewslots.

HATE voyages!
In all my years of playing I have not gotten a single legendary crew that can only be obtained by voyages.
Any rewards should be instinctive, play the game as it is designed and receive the reward.
Unfortunately, voyages are nothing like this.
They say the rewards are random but apparently not triggered by “luck”. I have been doing voyages daily since they began. After YEARS of play I should have randomly gotten at least one by now.
No information is given about how to obtain them. I have tried many variations of “choices”, including “select all the left options” AND “select all the right option”. Be good. Be evil. Be random. Nothing. Not one damned “exclusive” crew.
The hoops you have to “jump through” are invisible and unlinked. Missing one does not improve your chance of getting another. “Oops, that was the wrong choice this time, but here’s a green you have gotten 6,000 times already as compensation.”
At least make the ones who have been around for YEARS obtainable through Crew Retrieval.
Please.

Re: Event Discussion: You Can Never Escape - [2024/10/24]
I liked the planning ahead and seeing how many crew I could equip and sorting them.
I like the concept, even if it is a gauntlet event as much as a voyage event.
I don't like the lack of points. Even with a crew of ten quipped crew plus the mega event crew plus my best med gauntleteer, I could not have hit thresholds without spending resources. And these are (at least currently) limited resources that don't build up at a good rate without spending money. I didn’t use a ton of resources, but more than half my stock.
I really really didn't like the initial babysitting of the voyages. Seriously, I have a full-time job and a great family. I can manage twenty minutes for a shuttle Jumpstart and such, but near-constant vigilance over voyages at least once a day for two hours is not good. And if you don't give enough time, you have zero chance at even thresholds.
The VP should be doubled.
I can't imagine how hard this would be for a reasonably new player. But then, I'm not sure there are many new players.
Just my observations. I highly doubt the game makers will see them.

Of all the foolish things to waste staff time on to “fix,” they choose this?! Speaking to the programmers: do you not realize that qiipment still doesn’t auto remove itself when the timer expires? Do you know how many resources I’ve wasted because the game gives me incorrect information because of this terrible coding that you refuse to fix? This is a truly frustrating thing you know about and yet choose to not act. But the double bug you go and fix, randomly and out of the blue?! Unbelievable. 😡

Shadow's Guide to Voyager Event for the Non-spender
First and Foremost, this strategy requires a minimum of 2(half event) - 4(full event) Purple skip 2 Encounters. Note: ET zone
Prep your voyage to be able to go to 10 hours. Don't consider anything else besides getting to the 10 hour mark. After that is considered, add in Event crew/Low Bonus crew for extra VP
Start of the event:
1. Go 1 minute, do the encounter, go to 5 minutes, do the Encounter, etc all the way up. (Extra skip encounters are nice but not required)
2. At the 8 hr mark(usually a little past 8 pm ET), recall. Set the voyage back up and go through the first 2 hours worth of encounters. After the 2 hour mark( after 10 pm ET), use a 2 encounter skip. This will allow you to resume at the 8 hour mark when you wake up and you can gain passive VP for the 6 hours you are asleep.
3. Do the 8 hour mark(8 am assumption) and let it go to 10 hours(10 am assumption).
4. At that 10 hour mark recall and reset for another 10 hr voyage(until 8 PM). From here recall and you do the first 2 hours again followed by the 2 encounter skip for a good nights rests.
5. When you wake up, recall or extend the voyage until the phase ends.
6. If its a full Voyage, rinse and repeat the above strategy.
This strategy does not use any Voyage revives or other boosts. It will also net you the full Threshold value over the course of the 4 days(full event). If you are in a different time zone, you can easily alter this strategy based on when you sleep.

Re: Player Positivity and Accomplishment Thread
After about 6 years of playing, finally got a copy of Leonard Mccoy, and that was at the 6h mark, what a massive surprise and finally got it done and over with
