The Loot from 30 Days of Voyages...

Today marks 30 days of Voyages for me. I started on the 25th instead of the 20th when it was released. I have to say I have received some nice stuff from the new addition. I know everyone had to figure out what to do exactly since DB released no instructions. The community has pulled together and figured out the many facets of what is required to try and make the most of each Voyage... from the Wiki Voyage page to ChewableC++'s Voyage Tool/Estimator, to the Dilemma Wiki page I started (and have had help from many to fill in the missing text).

I have kept a running GDocs spreadsheet tallying as much data from each Voyage as I can. After 46 of them over 30 days, here are my stats:

Voyages: 46
Average Voyage Time: 526 min (8.77 hours)
Voyage Time: 24,197 min (403.28 hours)
Recall Time: 9,733 min (162.22 hours)
Revives: 48
Dilithium Spent on Revives: 4,309

Dilemmas Encountered: 179
Hazards Encountered: 15,615
Avg Time Between Hazards: 1.5 min
Avg Gold Star Hazards: 34.97%
Avg Silver Star Hazards: 24.86%

Total Chrons: 25,336 (Avg 1 per min during Voyage Time)
Total Honor: 23,282
- Honor from Voyage: 9,557
- Honor from Airlock Crew: 13,725
Total Credits: 1,465,700

5* Trainers: 1,181
4* Trainers: 1,545
3* Trainers: 838
Total Trainers: 3,564

5* Rations: 5
4* Rations: 949
3* Rations: 1136
2* Rations: 275
Total Rations: 2,365

4* Crew: 53 (65% usable as new or fuse)
3* Crew: 64
2* Crew: 134
1* Crew: 55
Total Crew: 306

Dilemma Misc Drops:
3* Components: 6
4* Components: 5
600 Ship Schematics: Received 4 times (Borg Scout Ship, Hirogen Warship, NX-1, I.S.S. Enterprise)

2* Components: 1,009
1* Components: 1,227
0* Components: 622

I think that's a pretty good haul for the month. I had about 152 hours of downtime from working or sleeping when Dilemmas paused the time, System Failures waiting to be revived, or time between finished recall and collecting. It takes me about 5-10 minutes to start a new Voyage, taking my time adding the right balance of skill points and bonuses. For the revives, I had some dilithium before Voyages started, and I also hit an immortalize achievement for 750 dilithium, along with the 30-day card dilithium for $4.99. As my non-revive voyages get into the 7 to 7½ hour range, I will only revive once to get it into the 9 to 9½ hour range. That 80-85 dilithium spent usually adds an additional 2/3 chrons for the voyage from the 7-9 hour range, plus many more other drops. If I spend 80-85 dil/day, the monthly card will be well spent netting me an average of 844 chrons/day (vs the standard 10/hour or 240/day timer).

Here's to another month of Voyages...

Ver interesting. Thanks for going to all that effort. I found this information most relevent considering the credit crunch many of us are experiencing:
    Total Credits: 1,465,700
    ...
    5* Rations: 5
    4* Rations: 949
    3* Rations: 1136
    2* Rations: 275
    Total Rations: 2,365

What were your criteria for doing a revive? (Skills? Proximity to Dilemma?)
  • Very nice record keeping. Definitely appreciate you sharing the summaries. Love that kind of hard data v. “my <sample size of 1> is absolute proof of X”

I have been wondering if you’ve noticed any changes in dilemma drops with regard to 4* crew in the last week or two. Or just any changes to 4* crew drops in general.

I had no specific criteria other than I want to revive at least once when my Voyage is over 6½ hours. The good loot comes after 6 hours, so the longer I can be in the 6-10 hour range, the more (not necessarily better) rewards I get. Chances seem to increase for a 4* crew over 7 hours, though I've had a few voyages over 9 hours with 0 4* crew. But the 2* components and basically doubling the crons. For example, at the 6½-7 hour system failure, I have about 280-320 chrons... after 1 revive and hit 8½-9 hours I have 580-600+ chrons - so 80 dil buys at least 250 chrons.

I do balance skill points with antimatter bonuses. Gold/Silver skills are usually 8k/6.5k, so everything past 7 hours is losing AM, at which point the extra AM comes into play to add some time here and there. I try to have 2700 AM or more.

No problem. You can the full spreadsheet here:

To answer your Dilemma question, all I can say is that they are random. There are 3 levels of Dilemmas:

    - Uncommon - 30/30/2* OR 3* Components
    - Rare - 60/50/3* OR 3* or 4* Components
    - Super Rare - 100/75/4*, 4* Components, OR 600 Ship Schematics

An occasional drop of a 3* in an Uncommon dilemma, or a 4* in a Rare dilemma will happen. In an 8 hour mission, you would only have 4 dilemmas. There is no guarantee that you will have a Super Rare Dilemma. You may get 4 Uncommons. You will always have an Uncommon at the 2h mark. If you're lucky enough to have the start of a 2-parter at the 2h or 4h mark, you may see part 2 at the 6h or 8h mark. If you get a Super Rare dilemma, you then have some RNG as to whether you get the 100/75/4* or 4* Components or 600 Ship Schematics. I use the Wiki to figure out the "best chance" based on other player's reported data - I'm going for the honor/chrons/crew, though currently the ship schematics are helping me as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Last Voyage I did not have any 4*, but i had a long lucky streak the previous 11 Voyages having at least 1 4*. 90% of the 4*'s are loot drops, the other 10% came from Super Rare Dilemmas. That 90% as I said is just random from loot boxes. If anything, I have seen an increase in the last 23 Voyages (31 crew) vs my first 23 Voyages (23 crew)... though my last 23 have been a bit longer. I never saw a "nerf" of any kind, though I didn't play the first 4 days when others said it was basically a loose slot machine dropping many 4* crew. I am steadily getting enough 4*s to fuse existing crew that have been sitting for awhile, adding new 4* crew that I never had (or had to airlock before cryostasis), along with some airlock fodder for extra honor. The only other thing I'd like to get from Voyages would be Merits, because the Gauntlet **tsk tsk**.
