Apparently the Voyages are struck so hard by temporal anomalies, that my crew even multiplies while waiting for assignments in their bunk beds. I was able to select Chaotica and Surak twice for my current Voyage:



Unless DB decided to graciously send out FFEE copies of the two of them overnight, that is.

I had to leave the game unattended for a while and came back to a 4:xx hour voyage without a single line of text, no loot and no antimatter indicator (and obviously no dilemmas in between). Of course, recalling it did still take almost two hours.
