Airlocking Time/Potentially Refit

I'm at 68 of 70 slots full with no one immortalized. My highest characters are in the 50's/60's, so I feel like to need to do a purge to clear room. I realize I can buy 5 more slots, but I see that as a temporary solution.

Here's how I have (Name, Current Rarity, Max Rarity, Level):

Diseased Changeling Founder Founder 1 4 1
Combat Medic Paris Paris 1 4 20

Commander Spock Spock 1 1 27
Will Riker Riker 1 1 10
Maquis Chakotay Chakotay 1 1 30

I am a main character kind of person. I also don't mind costumes, but costumes from a mission, not a holodeck excursion.

Here's who I'm thinking of airlocking, please feel free to critique:

Dominion Dukat
Herbert Rossoff
Keevan
Florist Q
Lt Cdr Daren
Raquetball Bashir
Recovering Spock
Geordi Laforge
Acting Ensign Crusher
Captain Dathon
Gilora Rejal
Away Team Archer
KDF Alexander

I really need some help knocking down the 2* characters. I'm thinking I won't add any new characters until I have someone immortalized and I'll focus on immortalizing my cadets for the challenges. Thoughts?

First suggestion before discussing individual crew: it is usually better to work on one crew at a time all the way to level 100 than have many crew languishing between levels 1 and 100. That way you get the maximum benefit of crew that is necessary (or not fully fused) and can freeze fully-fused crew that are not necessary to keep. I rarely have more than three crew that I work on at any time and that only happens because I am short on a hard to get item or an event crew takes priority.

    Now onto the suggestions:

The following 2* crew will allow you to finish any cadet mission during weekdays - Security Chief Worf, Cadet Sito Jaxa, Nurse Kes, CMO Crusher, Festive Jadzia, Lt. Naomi Wildman. Some people have elected to swap Jadzia for Science Officer T’Pol or Ensign Pazlar, some will swap Ensign Seska for Naomi. Persis and Seven in Blue can also be helpful depending on who else you use. Some will skip one or more of these to save on crew slots at the expense of not being able to do all of the cadet missions.

The following 3* crew will allow you to finish any cadet mission on the weekends - Lwaxana Troi, Lieutenant Saavik, Sniper Ezri, Maquis Takeover Torres. Some make use of Lursa and Dr. Selar or Temporal Shift Kes instead of Sniper Ezri, some choose Vedek Winn Adami over Lwaxana. People who compete in the Commander division of the arena may also have Odo or Kang, who can be helpful on Sundays.

If you have any 2* or 3* crew not on these lists, I recommend one of two things: if they are fully fused, level them up and put them in the cryostasis vault...if not, airlock. Free dilithium from immortalization achievements can go to adding shuttles or event packs and 3* crew are easy to get from portal packs.

For your collection of 1/4*s...it will probably be a long time before Dominion Dukat, Breen Disguise Dukat, or Herbert Rossoff show up in the portal. Getting them fully fused will take a looooong time and be a drain on your crew slots. Prospero Data, Kazon Seska, Combat Medic Paris, and Chief O’Brien are in the portal; however, it may take time to fully fuse them. That being said, in the meantime they could help you unlock more episode missions and thusly open up more options for obtaining critical items needed to equip future crew.
  • Thank you Dirk! Many of my 2* are FF. The challenge I’ve had leveling them is that I get to a place where either the xp is high (2000 for one level) or I haven’t made it far enough in the story to reach a needed item.

On leveling, do I just spend whatever trainers I need to level them and run voyages to restock those trainers? I can see using hundreds of trainers just to go 10 levels.
  • How many trainers you use depends on the stars of the Trainers, and what level you are going up.

Any of the following can be dismissed, imo.

    Breen Disguise Dukat Dukat 1 4 20

At your stage in the game, it would be recommended to take the honor you get from tossing people and putting it towards trainer purchases in the honor hall. Gold trainers provide more bang for your buck. People further along are awash in trainers from voyages and from shuttles, so you’ll have to buy trainers until such time as you have enough shuttles (and faction reputation) and long enough voyages to get a good return.

This is great advice. A lot of people will tell you not to waste your honor on anything other than citations, but they're wrong. It's a great way to kick-start your game.

Absolutely. In later stages of the game citations are 100% the way to go but early on there is a real need for trainers that is tough to get anywhere else.

You should have Keenan Fully Fused by the end of the month from the daily Rewards, so hold on to him. Plus, I believe he gets a Dominion bonus for this month’s mega-event.

Also, expanding crew slots is a good use of funds and dilithium after you’ve purchased your two extra shuttles.

  • I’ve already dumped Keevan so I won’t be able to FF him. A good lesson for the future though.

Well, you'll get two more copies of him over the course of the rest of the month, and he's in the rewards pool, so you can at least have a 2/3 version of him.

And he drops with alarming frequency from premium pulls. Which is why I still say that just because you freebies of him all month, that's not enough reason to hang on to him, especially if your crew slot situation is tight.

Agreed. My OH laughed at me when I used my first two months of honor on gold trainers. However I have double the immortalised crew that he does, and now I can achieve an occasional 8 hour voyage. I was able to stop buying them when my faction events improved, and now I can concentrate on citations.

This is off topic and I feel like a moron for asking, but I've seen you and a couple others use the term a lot: what is "OH"?

  • Don't feel bad. I've been playing for two years and on the forum for just as well.

Still don't know half the term and abbreviations. Know the simple ones though like IMO and IMHO. Used on other forums as well.
