New Star Base Rooms

At some point DB will have to quit extending the current batch of rooms. The current "fix" of just adding a few more % points is unteneable in the long run and as many of us are disovering, leveling these rooms at the higher values is becoming very painful. I'd like to propose a new set of rooms that increase passive ship stats, Accuracy, Crit Bonus, Crit Rating and Evasion. Upgrading each of the abilities of the ships incrementaly would be a good way to help all in the fleet and would seem to me to be a fair and equitable measure across the game.

Maybe antimatter upgrades as well?
we need a long term solution . something to donate resources to in the starbase to get the daily checkpoints .. when all rooms are full.
Several options have been put forward ..
heck .. even a simple "donate these and get nothing" .. would be a better option than what they have now .(ie nothing)

I have never had a crew slot issue, not even close, but I see great value in your idea. Crew Quarters where you can receive a few more crew slots. That’s brilliant!
I am a little bit bothered by the possibility of losing crew slots if you get bounced from the fleet and either don’t join another or the next fleet doesn’t have the same level of Crew Quarters. Even if it was one slot per room level and it capped out at level 3 or level 5, that could be real trouble.
A room that never truly fills up and has no level cap (or no level displayed) is a good idea. Call it the “Cargo Bay” or “Trade Center” and have it accept 25,000 nanopolymers, 10,000 tritanium, and 10,000 transparent aluminum. Upon completion, it grants everyone in the fleet 1000 honor and resets all three material counters to 0.
You mean to tell me out of hundreds of crew you couldn’t pick 3 or 5 totally useless ones to freeze in a pinch? I have 131 crew slots filled and I can do without about 40 of them and not even notice
That is a great idea. I don't think anybody would turn down more honor, and it adds a strategic element to contributions, deciding how much to add to a bonus-eligible room, and how much to add to the "cargo bay."
Personally speaking, I am nowhere even near my own crew slot limit, never mind additional slots from a starbase bonus. Even with freezable Dominion crew and now starting to thaw out Mirror Crew for next week I have 19 open slots (181/200). I could conceivably get down to 150 if I relied more on 1/5* crew to fill shuttle and voyage slots.
Not everyone has this benefit. VIP0 and other FTP players don’t have that same flexibility and the benefit of added crew slots by way of starbase rooms would be an illusory one with the possibility of losing slots due to being removed from a fleet for any of a variety of reasons.
An extension of this idea, build crew quarters so that crew can "live" on the starbase rather than going to the vault, frees up a crew slot, and can be shared within the fleet. A logistical nightmare for programming, but would solve some issues.
Level 1 = +1 Crew to Starbase
Level 2 = +2 Crew to Starbase
etc. – probably limit it to 3 crew per person.
Calling it a percentage yield seems to level it off between the arena difficulties but in reality i doubt it would work that way. A 2% increase in the admiral division could be a bonus 200 attack (and let's pretend it maxes at lvl 5 with linear progression so, +1,000). In Commander that might be more like +150 (at lvl 5).
+1,000 in Admiral is... Not awesome, but you might notice it. Maybe.
+150 in Commander is useless. You can easily get that through selecting the right bridge crew.
So it would have to be a variable bonus by division, and that's a programming nightmare.
I would suggest a Dilithium Chamber in the star base. This would help get more people involved in spending more dilithium. Say it generates a certain amount per day, much like if one had a monthly card. If one had a monthly card, they could earn dilithium daily thru their purchase of the card BUT if a star base had a dilithium room, they could earn more.
Finally, how about a place in the game where one can purchase crew? Yes, we can get them thru the portal for some limited ones, or for some other limited ones in the faction centers. But there are crew members that one might aspire towards getting, such as higher powered ones that they missed during an event or need to combine with others to immortalize. I'm talking about a full list of all the crew that have already been released to players, available for selection and purchase.
Have you been naughty? Playing with yourself again? Has another fleet touched you in bad ways? Don’t worry, we will train you…. Gently. Light bondage only. Bring your own handcuffs, though…. We don’t supply them.
We’re not those other guys. Here we shower often, and we treat our members like family. We know how to whip some serious tail, yet no one is left to shiver out in the cold. If you need advice, help, strategy, tips or anything at all…. I and my officers are here to help you.
Currently, we're looking for more good people to enjoy the game with us, and we offer a TON to our members, in return. We prefer level 50 members and above. Lower level players than this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We use the DISCORD app for all our fleet chats (it's free). We're much better organized than many other top-tier fleets in the game, while a heck of a lot more relaxed and much more fun to be a part of. I have numerous other former fleet Admirals who joined me, and we have a world of knowledge and experience to share with you. Sure, we all love the game, and we enjoy playing it often; but we're also a fun family of kooky friends from around the world, who enjoy playing the game together. On top of playing, we also hang out often and share plenty of good laughs, an excellent supportive environment and one another's company.
It's OK if you don't play every day. You don’t have to be a daily player, but the more you play the more fun you’ll have with us. So long as you let me know ahead of time whenever you know you're going to be offline from the game for five days or more, I won't kick you for inactivity. You can send me that message on DISCORD at any time you need to; it takes only a moment. That rule helps keep our fleet as active as possible.
All Captains MUST have a name other than just “Captain” so that others may recognize you. We have no drama, but instead are a close-knit group of good people who treat each other as if we’re both friends & family.
WE’RE ALMOST ALL VERY HIGHLY ACTIVE, and help is never far whenever you might need it, at any stage of the game, nearly 24/7. Whatever your skill level, we can help you.
If you are interested in joining our fleet, please feel free to message me and I will be glad to assist you.

Not sure if I'd open the game up to trading among players. That would open the door to the same type of problem that plagued many games on FB, for example, where people try to find ways to make a profit off of trading, which could also lead towards more fake players, especially bloating the top levels.
I do like your idea for converting unused components to honor points. Makes sense. When I suggested a means for buying crew, I was referring to a path towards obtaining crew members that have already been released but we don't have in our inventory. For example, if I'm looking to get a Captain Killy, rather than have to build up another player who would be equal, I would prefer to just have a means towards buying or earning her. To me, that seems a better alternative than waiting around for the next event where she'll be featured in

You're right about that. But they could still allow us to switch characters without trading them with other players. To add some difficulty, there could be different types of limitations. For example, they could only let you switch a character to one of the same collection or with a common trait, or more characters or copies of the same rarity could be required for the exchange. I think it would somehow limit the frustration of not being able to get a character you want or need for months or years. Also, I've sometimes seen people complaining about beholds with 3 immortalized characters. It never happened to me yet, but it could be a solution to that problem too.
I like that idea. It would be nice to see DB try both of our ideas, if only on a trial basis so they could see that they would work, and be able to potentially work out any bugs or kinks

I think you should be able to assign crew to the completed rooms. Each room should have a certain crew skill needed, along with a trait, that would enable a bonus to occur (credits, merits, dilithium, etc). The crew member would have to be assigned to that room for a required amount of time to receive said bonus. Crew assigned to Starbase rooms would not be eligible for Away Missions or Voyages, and cannot be deleted from your roster.
