Skirmish event today - can't get battles to start

Trying to do my first skirmish and I can't even get the first battle to start. I get to the Red Alert screen, set up my ship and crew and on the red alert screen I just get the 'loading' disk spinning away for minutes on end. Tried restarting the game to be told if I lost connection again I'd lose the battle and so I've left it spinning but 15 mins later it's still not progressed. Can't leave it going forever.....

    Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, would you submit an in-game ticket so we can investigate?

    It seemed to sort itself out, but it failed on 2 attempts so I did loose the intel and the chance of the first 5 battles but don't know if that would make much difference to my overall score. I tried on my phone and today it's now okay on my ipad as well, so seems like it was perhaps a server issue early on as it wasn't long after the event started, but don't know if anyone else had the same problem.

    Glad to hear the issue's resolved itself for the moment. Would you still submit a ticket so that we can have a record of this problem and potentially look for a solution for future events?
