Is it best not to claim your Voyage Revival right away?

As there’s no expiry date to claim this reward to,
would it be best to keep it in ‘Messages’ until you are going for a longer voyage & claim it just before the last time you plan to recharge your Antimatter?
With the amount of Dilithium increasing as a voyage goes on with each recharge, wouldn’t it be logical to use it instead of the highest amount of Dilithium you are prepared to spend?
I have claimed a Voyage Retrival in the past straight away and then my first dilemma I wasn’t given the choice to not use it, I had to use it instead of maybe 68-72 Dilithium at about the 7 hour point.
If I hadn’t of claimed it & let my voyage progress, surely I could have used it later on down the line when it asked for a higher amount of Dilithium to recharge 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can't say for sure without doing it, but I'd expect it to behave the way it has in the past. I'm for sure leaving mine in the inbox until I want to use it. Your logic re: holding it for a really expensive recharge seems sound.

when claiming it it is added to your voyage supplies in the inventory. Ready for later use, no point in not claiming it.

In the past because it was in my invantoty it forced me to use it very early on in my voyage rather than give me the option to use it later when greater amount of Dilithium would be preferable to substitute.

Except you are FORCED to use it the next time you need a Voyage extension. Why not know that you get a good voyage first, get beyond the 8hour mark without refresh, spend about 90 Dils to get you past the 10 hour, then extend after that to get to 11-12 hours with the free one.

I have never done the 20 hour voyage achievement. I plan on using these tokens for that eventually.

I made the mistake of claiming the first one from mail early. I ended up using it because my attention slipped and I didn't want to give up a particular voyage. I would've preferred to spend DIL instead. I'm keeping the current one in the mailbox till I need it.

  • Can you use it to recall in lieu of extending?

The token is used to extend not to recall voyages

Having completed a 20 hour voyage I can tell you that your last recharge will be costly in Dilithium. So you should hold off claiming the Revival until you hit your last dilemma. 🖖🏼

It doesn't matter when you claim it!! You use it whenever you want too.

So you can claim it & then use Dilithium to recharge your antimatter a few times before using the revival token, is that what you’re saying?
That you have the option to use it at your own discretion?

This is incorrect. Scroll up to read how other players were forced to use the token instead of dilithium to refresh the AM.

guest read the messages, you're wrong. there IS a consequence to when you claim it out of your mailbox, you are probably just not understanding what others have already stated (or didn't read them).

If you mean it can stay indefinitely in game mail & be claimed at any time, then yes.

If you mean you can claim it into inventory & THEN use it whenever you want to, that's only true if the very next time you extend a voyage is when you wanted to. That includes reviving a voyage accidentally forgotten until it ran out of AM.

You see, forced to use it once claimed.
A dilemma at the 8 hour point would of cost me roughly 90 odd Dilithium.
If I had not claimed it until say the 18th hour of the voyage instead of spending hundreds of Dilithium I could have then claimed it and had a greater saving on Dilithium.

Not if you want to use dilithium to revive in the interim. As has been repeated many times, once you claim the next time you want to revive the option to do so with dilithium will be gone and the only option will be to use the token. Some would prefer to save the token(s) for more expensive revives further into a voyage.

That's not strictly true. You don't get a chance to use dilithium or the token. Once the token is claimed the next time you want to extend your voyage you must use the token. So it might be advantageous to do an extend with dilithium first if it's going to be cheaper and then on the next extend of the same voyage claim the token and use it.

Accidently claimed this one early...last one I used to cap off a 20-hr plus voyage (that still didn't deliver the third dilemma for Guinin or Worf). This one I'll just have to wind up using it on the first voyage I have worh extending rather than waiting for the optimal time.

It's not that big a deal if we can expect to see more of these tokens in the future.

I was surprised to see a second one so soon after the first. Gives me hope.
