Does anyone know how the Replicator count works?

I'm a VIP level 14 and I was at Replicator count 6 last. Now, my Replicator count is 8.

Do my Replicator count change when I join a new Starbase or when my VIP count increases? I can't remember when my last VIP level increased.

Also, what is the last Replicator count?

I hope everyone understands my question.

At VIP 14 you have five replications per day. A starbase can give you up to three more per day depending on leveling for a max possible of eight per day.

It would be helpful if there was an in game counter that shows how many replications you have left.
