Clearing Gravitational Well...

That must be some black hole nearby, because I get caught in it often.

Need some technical app help. When I get home from work, I often have lots of trouble getting the game to start. I usually get stuck at: Activating Com Badge, or Communicating with Starfleet, or the dreaded Clearing Gravitational Well. When these lockups occur, I usually have to clear my storage and memory, clear browser history, and often reboot the phone (android galaxy S5). And sometimes after all that it STILL won't launch. Sometimes it takes trying over and over again for 20 minutes or more.

Frustrating to say the least.

It's not like I'm short on memory (half available).

What is the issue? Does anyone else have this issue? What can I do to fix it?

I'm not technical, nor a expert at navigating the phone, so please keep answers in plain English.

Thx in advance, and watch out for those pesky black holes, lol.
Hurry up before those things eat Guy!

I get the game stalling occasionally on my crappy tablet, usually when I've had the device running for days at a time. In my case, shutting the tablet down completely and starting it up again always fixes the issue.

Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

For my iPhone, restarting also works wonders. You could also try turning on airplane mode, then turning it off again a moment later before restarting the app. That worked well for me, too
HIGH RANKING, HIGHLY SEXY FLEET SEEKS HOT & ACTIVE PEOPLE FOR SOME FUN PLAY.

Have you been naughty? Playing with yourself again? Has another fleet touched you in bad ways? Don’t worry, we will train you…. Gently. Light bondage only. Bring your own handcuffs, though…. We don’t supply them.

We’re not those other guys. Here we shower often, and we treat our members like family.
We know how to whip some serious tail, yet no one is left to shiver out in the cold. If you need advice, help, strategy, tips or anything at all…. I and my officers are here to help you.

Currently, we're looking for more good people to enjoy the game with us, and we offer a TON to our members, in return. We prefer level 50 members and above. Lower level players than this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We use the DISCORD app for all our fleet chats (it's free). We're much better organized than many other top-tier fleets in the game, while a heck of a lot more relaxed and much more fun to be a part of. I have numerous other former fleet Admirals who joined me, and we have a world of knowledge and experience to share with you. Sure, we all love the game, and we enjoy playing it often; but we're also a fun family of kooky friends from around the world, who enjoy playing the game together. On top of playing, we also hang out often and share plenty of good laughs, an excellent supportive environment and one another's company.

It's OK if you don't play every day. You don’t have to be a daily player, but the more you play the more fun you’ll have with us. So long as you let me know ahead of time whenever you know you're going to be offline from the game for five days or more, I won't kick you for inactivity. You can send me that message on DISCORD at any time you need to; it takes only a moment. That rule helps keep our fleet as active as possible.

All Captains MUST have a name other than just “Captain” so that others may recognize you. We have no drama, but instead are a close-knit group of good people who treat each other as if we’re both friends & family.

WE’RE ALMOST ALL VERY HIGHLY ACTIVE, and help is never far whenever you might need it, at any stage of the game, nearly 24/7. Whatever your skill level, we can help you.

If you are interested in joining our fleet, please feel free to message me and I will be glad to assist you.

Free steak & Lobster available from our resident chef upon joining (alternate meal suggestions are possible), drinks available through our in-house bartender/barista/host. Please be sure to tip your wait staff. They're nuts, but they're worth it.

Clearing the RAM memory before rebooting the phone helps alot

Off the main OP because this was an iOS problem.

This happened to me after iOS update (I think 11)
    Eventually fixed with update.
    The problem.
I saw I had WiFi but phone acted as though it did not. I could either turn WiFi off and get it back or go to airplane mode and back to normal which in essence does the same thing., Basically restart the WiFi. Was annoying. I actually turned off WiFi on phone because of it.
I occasionally on iPad would use my phone as a hot spot to avoid it too.
My iPad got the update first that got rid of the problem.
Took over a week before my iPhone got the update. (I realize now it was because, it wants the WiFi to update the phone. I had turned it off. I went into settings and saw update was available. I was told it needed WiFi on to install)

Yeah, I know. It's only started happening since the last update.

If you turn WiFi off and basically use the phone to connect, will that work.
If it does not work, then it most likely is not a WiFi problem.

I just love operating system updates that break things.☹️

My Android OS has not been updated recently. I've tried running STT on two different Android devices on two different wifi networks. The problem does not appear to affect steam or Facebook gameroom which means no ad warps. If it errors it says no internet although I am able to download just fine

This connection is on a Lenovo wifi tablet - it has no 4G. Here is my internet download speed:

It is only Timelines affected. I guess it's back to Facebarf gameroom and no ad warps

I get that message all of the time lately (on iOS), but if I just tap Okay and wait a second the game loads and plays fine.

I get that occasionally when I have a week connection. Make sue your WIFI is on. Otherwise it is using the network your phone is on.

I get this all the time on 3 different Windows 10 PCs. 2 hardwired and one wireless. I also am on AT&T Fiber with 1 GBs upload and download. I just end task and start it again. Happens about half the time I play.
