@Shan the event must be cancelled. We can't have people gaining points while others cannot even get into the event.
I've been at 1014 since the changeover. I think folks might just be tripping about rank drop since this is one of the more competitive areas for rank during events.

The screenshot of the rank drop was a single rank less than 1 minute into phase 2. That could easily be someone above them having completed a skirmish a second after they did their own last skirmish.

How is that even possible? I thought no one could play anymore??
Was wondering the same thing, my rank hasn't moved, nobody in my fleets rank has moved. Wonder if it is just people that don't pay attention to their rank, or forgot to refresh the screen and though their rank had changed but it changed before the event ended.
compensate everyone for present position ... have two days off and move on?

I would say take the present position and then give the rewards for one rank higher. If someone is at the edge of a rank, they could very easily jump up significantly in the faction portion.
To be clear, this is a universal screwup. Players should not have to go to CS individually for a resolution. Those of us who planned to push in this second half had better not get stuck with where we were at the end of Skirmish.

Yes. If someone had limited time to participate in phase 1 and had lots of boosts for phase 2
I have to agree with the ppl who said we need to just stop now. There is no point in trying to continue as there is no telling when it's going to be ready to go and for the ppl who were ready at noon, it is unfair to them to continue.

Some weren’t trying for rank, but going to use faction to just finish up thresholds.

Probably a coincidence - I just cleared the 4 hour mark no problem.

or at least convert them to VP or something else useful.

EDIT: I'm still at the same rank I was 30 minutes ago.
If they have decent logs, db should be able to see wheter vp was earned during the downtime, and retract gained vp before the end of the event.

Wrong. We had faction not phase 1 when there was the three part event
