3 Seat Shuttles

I just loaded 5 3-seat shuttles for the Borg faction. Is this the highest ever in an event?

I'm definitely seeing three seaters the time.
Each faction has 5 of the 3-seat shuttles, 2 of the 4-seat shuttles and 1 of the 5-seat shuttles
So the four seater was mandatory. Thanx.
And how!
Here are some records for Faction phases going back to last July. Shown are # of 3-seat missions , # total missions, and % 3-seaters:
7.26 - Mistress of the Mirror - 4/16 (25%)
8.9 - An Even Field - 6/24 (25%)
8.23 - Life, Liberty... - 7/24 (29%)
8.30 - Education is Power - 3/24 (13%)
9.6 - Changeling in Time - 4/18 (22%)
9.27 - Ready to Rumble - 6/24 (25%)
10.4 - Pygmalion - 0/18 (0%)
10.18 - What is a Man - 8/24 (33%)
11.1 - Captain's Oath - 4/20 (20%)
11.15 - Peldor Joi - 6/24 (25%)
11.19 - Children of Apollo - 4/16 (25%)
12.13 - Silent Night - 0/18 (0%)
12.27 - Joy to the World - 6/24 (25%)
1.10 - New Lease - 6/24 (25%)
1.17 - Prove One's Self - 10/16 (63%)
Well I guess this explains where all the 3 seaters meant to be in silent night ended up.
"Oh, look, you have SO many bonus crew, and so many 3-seaters. You could totally rank well in this event by using extra shuttles and time boosters. Oh, but wait, everybody else probably has a lot of bonus crew, too, so you'll need lots of shuttle tokens and boosts. Aw, shucks, if only there was a way to..... WE'VE GOT IT! Here are some $10 packages for you to choose from. Totally what you need, out of the kindness of our hearts! Just remember, other people can buy those, too, so you should buy more than them!"
I'd call it crafty, but.... eh, it's pretty much the opposite. It's pretty ham-handed and obvious. The only question is if this is a one-off cash-grab, or a permanent feature of event design.
Of course, that also means people with a large crew benefit greatly from using shuttle rentals.
They need to put value in the 4 and 5 seat shuttles, like 3/4 or 4/5 being all the same skill to offset the opportunity cost vs 3 seat shuttles.
3/4 single stat boost does not beat a 2/3 boost. Never saw a 4/4 or 4/5 same stat boost to test against a 2/3 boost though.
Trouble is getting 4 high level crew for the same stat (while also stocking other shuttles).
So from that respect, not sure 4 or 5 node shuttles could ever beat a 3 node shuttle.
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I'll go back to my corner now.
Interesting. Guess that really raises the question of why even bother creating 5 seat shuttles in the first place.
One of the reasons why I love Sir Patrick Stewart OBE as an actor and Picard as my favorite Captain. He could pour on the emotion when he needed to but it never felt forced.
FACTION A
Mission 1: Com or Med, Sec or Med, Dip or Med, Eng or Med, Sci or Med.
Mission 2: Com or Sci, Sec or Sci, Dip or Sci, Eng or Sci, Med or Sci.
Mission 3: Com or Dip, Sec or Dip, Eng or Dip, Sci or Dip, Med or Dip.
Mission 4: Com or Sec, Dip or Sec, Eng or Sec, Sci or Sec, Med or Sec.
Mission 5: Sec or Com, Dip or Com, Eng or Com, Sci or Com, Med or Com.
Missions 6-8: Various 3 and 4 seaters with pretty tough AND combinations.
In this example, you could load shuttle 1 with five Med crew, slap a med boost on it, and be G2G. Repeat for the others. OR you could send out the 3 and 4 seaters as per usual. I think that strikes a pretty good balance between having event crew and having a deep bench, so in theory everyone can strategize to fit their situation without anybody feeling squeezed out.
I love all the wild cards, great idea. The challenge is, they'd still have to be bonus crew - even the few top base cards, FF, only come in somewhere around 1500-1700 skill points if used single skill, which is the bottom of the barrel compared with even weak 2x bonused event crew using any number of their skill/skill pair combos. Strong garden variety non-bonused might come in 1100-1300 FF, which normally wouldn't be very competitive event material (single-skill). If 2x bonused though, that turns around.
So possibly an interesting option for a mega faction with tons of bonus crew like the Hologram or Pilot ones, or Captain's Oath XII, ...
