This is a widespread outage on the Facebook platform, it has been going on for a few hours and like you we are waiting for it to be resolved. It is not something on our end at all.
Yesterday, as a result of a server configuration change, many people had trouble accessing our apps and services. We've now resolved the issues and our systems are recovering. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience.

Hopefully disruptorbeam facebook will be able to fix this issue before the event starts.
