Greetings all,
Over two months ago, I publicly vowed on this forum to wait to hit VIP 14, with the goal being to cross the VIP 14 finish line by purchasing the five 4* citation offer. Since that declaration I have not once seen that offer, nor seen any forum threads where it was offered to anybody else. I have reached out to DB on the forums in other threads and on twitter numerous times asking for that offer, and lately asking if it is still even an offer at all, and have heard nothing.
In short, I am stuck. I want to honor my promise, but I have no idea if it is even a valid vow anymore if the citation offer has been discontinued. Ideally I'd like to wait until I get that offer because that was my dream/goal, but I'm also tired of waiting, partly out of frustration over the fact that I'm literally trying to give a company money and them not wanting it, partly out of annoyance that every week I spend nothing (I'm RIGHT on the threshold of VIP 14, I can only safely buy one more monthly card without going over) I'm losing ground, and partly because I feel it is passed time for the party thread.
So the only thing I can think to do is either stay the course, or else bring this to the public forum and ask the community if I may be released from my vow, so to that end, will you guys allow me to take back by stated pledge to wait to hit VIP 14 until I buy the citation offer? This may seem silly, but to me this is a matter of honor.

This. And also you know what will happen the day after you give in......
I've asked about this offer and whether or not it will be offered again, I do not understand why that information needs to be kept secret. If the answer is 'yes', great, people would probably want to know that information as it is a pretty good offer. If 'no', great, people will know it is not coming back and can adjust accordingly.
So yeah, it has been aggravating to say the least. In preparation of buying that citation offer I rushed a bunch of 3/4 up to FE status, have gotten almost no use out of any of them that entire time, and just sat here for months staring at dead weight AND the $25 I set aside to buy them citations. I'll never understand why it had to be like this.
I honestly don't really care if they have plans to ever bring this offer back or not, but as a customer who has demonstrated a willingness to pay money for the product, all I really wanted was the respect warranted of that and be given an answer to a reasonable question, OR at the very least an explanation as to why they felt they could not give an answer.
More importantly, why on God's green Earth would you make that kind of vow to get VIP 14? Especially, on something so rare and insignificant?
Not sure if this game will ever last long enough for that to happen. But I respect those that stick with just the monthly hoping for the day they can make VIP 14.
I've asked about this offer on the forums numerous times in the past, and never got a solid answer about it. You may be right, I am not sure. But that is kind of my point in a way, what is the point of stuff like this not being public knowledge? As to why I did it, why not? At the time that offer had been given twice in a matter of weeks, so I just assumed it was going to become a regular part of the rotation, so why not have a little fun? Honestly though, asking why at this point is not incredibly useful, the past is the past.
To perhaps put this issue to bed, given the feedback from several people whom I have tremendous respect for were all unanimous in dissolving my obligations to hold to the original promise, I have since crossed over into the land of VIP 14, and will begin preparations for the party thread! Thank you everyone for engaging with me on this subject.

I have begun cracking open the rather substantial cache of 10x premium pulls I've been stockpiling for many months. As you can imagine it is taking rather a lot of time to document each pull in a thorough and organized fashion, but rest assured the process is underway!

This may take a while. I'm sure opening dozens of these on their own isn't too tough, but having to document each pull is tedious and mentally draining. Going to pace myself. So far I've successfully processed 20 pulls, which is to say around 30%.
The data gathering is always the painful part. Would be nice if the device were using had unlimited memory. So we could just let it video record it all. But, that still would mean going back and watching the video and documenting the data.
But, mistakes would be minimal.
Question: have you made the purchase or still waiting for the right offer?
If waiting I would not be shocked if you finally get that citation offer this weekend😉
Once I was publicly released from my original agreement, I immediately bought the Test Pilot Archer bundle for a host of reasons, and that pushed me over the VIP 14 threshold. I did wait until I hit VIP 14 to crack open the cache.
I'm undecided as to where all that honor is going to go, but given how I shot up from around 35,000 to dang near 100,000, I have also been kicking around the idea of buying Kahless. That would be immensely memorable, and also very useful on those Gauntlet rounds when he is basically an auto-win.
