Game lag/delay is absurd today

As the title says. Not my internet connection, this has occurred to me on my home internet service (on iOS and Steam versions of the game) as well as out away from home on a wifi at a local establishment.
Tapping shuttles to collect them is taking upwards of 30 seconds each. Sending shuttles, choosing voyage dilemmas, ship scans, practically every action is taking 30 seconds to complete. This is not a good thing during a shuttle event where every minute counts.
It's been on and off all day. One minute it is working fine, the next it's delayed and lagging. At one point I was unable to even log into the game for nearly 10 minutes.
