Does the triggering ship effect already have to be in place to trigger a crew's special ability or does it work any time during it is running if the corresponding ship ability is activated? I expect this to work with position and boarding but I am not sure. For cloak I think it only works with the ship being cloaked already when the crew is activated, right? Or does the crew for example activate the 400% damage and the cloak is immediately consumed?

    Yes, ship ability have to be active for triggered ability to work
