How often do you extend voyages (a question for seasoned voyagers)

With my latest long voyage, I managed to obtain my 7th Voyage-only crew member: Colonel Worf. He shall be cited to the freezer within the month.

This only leaves McCoy left to chase down. But once I get him, I will cite him to the freezer, and then what?

Obviously I will still be sending out voyages - there are still plenty of purple crew in the portal who I haven't obtained, but when would you extend your voyage?

At the moment, I extend past 8 hours if I see parts 1 and 2 of a 3 part dilemma (in this case, only A Higher Duty now) or if I forgot to recall at 8 hours.

Once I bag McCoy, when should I extend?

Would you extend to 10 hours every time?
Would you only extend if you had some purples under your belt?

I am curious.

I'm the same as Banjo. Sometimes i forget a lot and run like a 14 hour voyage for feck all and throw my phone away.

Ever since they added the tokens and I’ve been trying to save them I try to always recall without running out. I lose one a about once a month and use a token, but it’s never intentional. Once you get ~30 tokens saved you can go for a max voyage to get exclusive crew without rng.

If you want to get more voyage rewards and not use a token insta recalling for dil and running more voyages in the time saved also works.

My dilithium is rare to come by, and almost always goes on crew slots during a sale. I would never extend a voyage for dilithium.
Revival tokens all the way. Thankfully, I only used 6 on my latest venture, leaving me with a safe 12 left.

Same as Banjo - only when I forget. I’ve accepted that I don’t even really want to try a max voyage (too many opportunities for voyage-killing bugs) and that I will be finishing the remaining three-dilemma crew with campaign citations.
