Collectible cards vs new cards

The very old cards are no match for the new cards released. What if, you think to an algorithm or even maybe an upgrade option to boost those cards stats. Lets say by 1% / year from the release date? I didn't do any math, but something to bring those very old cards to be competitive not just some "rusty old weapons in a graveyard".

    This makes sense.

So, I know the point in the Dev side is "new cards = income." They want people to replace the old cards with new cards. So they have to make the new cards more desirable. Adding a game adjustment to old cards would, from that perspective be counter intuitive from a certain point of view.

However, I think they take too narrow a view. The portal drops these cards rather than new cards that haven't been added to the loot table yet. They would probably sell more add a second copy offers and sell more 5* citations if the 5* pulls from the portal were more relevant and worth keeping.
