Some of these ads are just plain rude. One of them has no mute button, and if you touch anywhere on the screen, it takes you to an external website, not the app store or play store.
So glad I have Firefox Focus as my default browser. It tries to run JavaScript which I have preemptively disabled.
There is nothing I can do without more information.
I'm quoting what I said before.
There is a theory that some of these ads show you a page that mimics the app store.
And looking at the last screenshot from Tichy, that seems to be true for some of them, as there would be no ad network name/logo if it truly was the app store page being presented.
However that might not be the case for all of them but to look into this more we would need additional information such as:
- platform
- country
- your advertising identifier
- the network
- and what would be really helpful would be a video showing that the ad does indeed open the app store
I understand not wanting to share country/ad identifier on a public forum so PM me instead.
Thank you!
I think I experienced this in another app, but I did touch the ad itself by mistake.
I can varify that at least on amazon devices, some adds really jump straight to the app store on the amazon website, but its a separate window, so i just switch back to the game. No harm done, but still annoying.
Right now no add options appear to me anyway, until i restart the game every time i use 1, thats even more of an issue here.
So, so far I've tried to record every ad with AZ Screen. Funny thing is - when I turn on the recorder before I start the ad I get the usual harmless ones. Only when I do forget to turn it on I get the others. Honi soit qui mal y pense.
there are multiple ads that directly revert to playstore and have had the gardenscape ad directly open browser and started downloading apk 3 times so far which is insane where did i consent to download anything lol. to clarify it completely circumvents the playstore so try to click the X and poof download started
Whoever said “no harm done”, that’s nonsense. Harm done, and potential for harm huge.
There’s an ad provider that’s been named here, why are there ads still running in the game? This kind of behaviour is inexcusable. The “report ad” button doesn’t seem to have any effect, though I guess that’s the only line out to the folks who could actually do something about it?
Edit: also support tickets do not work. They say “sorry, have some chrons,” so dead end there. Are they actually collecting the info/media we send them and doing something with it? I get that the poor CSRs don’t have control over the ad network, so I’d just like to know what can actually be done to make a difference.

@Shan, do you still want us to pm you screencaps?

Here’s one on iOS that makes it appear it went to the store when it didn’t. The screen moves from left to right to get your attention.
Another one that jumper straight to Play store
Task view after playstore opened
Back ingame
The culprit seems to be AdColony
Open a ticket to support and attach it to the message you get back.
As Sven suggested, try via a support ticket and let them know to notify me about it. Thank you!
Ditto. I will try to remember screenshots with the ad provider info next time.
