Why does COP Founder Archer have literally the same face as North Star Archer?

They're totally different. One Archer has a hat on his head and the other one has play-doh noodles.

Just going to point out that the art that was in the beta and since used sporadically in-game and during events could have been used as a basis so at least the expression was different, and there wouldn't have been much to change to put him into the dress uniform.



So we wouldn't have this going on.

This artwork has really been awful lately. It makes or breaks whether I want a character sometimes. Defensive Phlox looks awful (I know he’s in his puffed out phase). They are putting such a weak effort into art lately that it turns me off when I would’ve bought alot of packs (as evidenced by my forum name)

I think you're the first person I've ever seen to have COP Archer.
And now that I remembered he's a 4*, then no I don't want him as the next Gauntlet prize.

I imagine the Honor Hall is going to stick with the 5-and-1 formula, but maybe not.

General Chang's Chicken

Same as Tuskegee Mayweather and Ensign Mayweather. The art is based off of shots from the show, so when it's a custom character, it's going to be a reference shot from somewhere. I'd rather have a face that I know looks decent on one of these characters than something like Potato Martok.

Look closer. The mouth is bigger and expressionless. Not even what a mouth would look like while holding ones breath. Eyes are different. I get that it seems nitpicky but it really takes the emotion of the situation hecwas in right out of it

So they used a different frame as a reference shot...

I like Phlox art as well. But with his skills, its still not enought to tempt me to try the slot machine. Yes his max MED roll is like 100 more than of the 4* but thats not a huge difference, average wise.

Not cool, DB. At least make an effort here. If you're going to do this sort of thing in the future, we may as well change the name of the game to Dress Up Barbie Star Trek Edition, since it's just putting a new outfit on existing artwork.

Aww I thought Phloxie was a 4* then I might try for a pack, but if he's a 5*, despite my need for strong MED crew, I doubt I'll be able to pull him.

EDIT: Tried and got Sato of course, but got two other beholds, one had all FF'd 4*s for me, but the other got me a final * for my Kurros

In theory, we ought to see him coming back in a sequel to the storyline from Second Battle of New York... when the vote sent Spock to hie off after the missing Archer and left Picard behind to make sure the COP still happened.

This is especially ironic in light of the answer to my somewhat reworded question in the recent Q&A, that we can't "customize" a character's appearance due to clearance issues. As I noted in a previous response, if they'd taken the old beta art and redrawn the uniform to be the dress version, it probably wouldn't have been much different in the effort level, and you wouldn't have 2 consecutive versions of a character at the same star level, released pretty close together, with the exact same face, minus some ersatz stubble removal.

(My original question referred to the "costume" system used by the licensed Doctor Who Match 3 game, where people can win/pay for/earn different pictures of the same character that don't mess with the character's abilities.)
