STT freezes at end of ship battle on Windows 10

In the windows app the game freezes at the end of a ship battle at the point where it says 'hailing starfleet'. The 'spinning animation' also freezes.
I haven't used the windows app a lot so I'm not entirely sure when this started but I first saw it after skipping the animation at the end of a battle, so probably since the last update. But it started to occur on more occasions, ultimately after every ship battle.
I uninstalled the STT app, rebooted my PC en installed STT again from the windows store. As a result I'll have to go through the initial animations/gameplay before I can log in. But since this contains a ship battle it freezes every time and the app is now completely disfunctional as a result.

What are the specs of your computer?
So, I can log in again but ship battles still freeze.
The specs of my computer are:
- Windows 10 Pro 64bit
- AMD Ryzen 3200G
- 8 Gb RAM
- Radeon RX 570 4Gb Graphics card
