I tried playing on steam and getting can no sync, it come up with the splash page but no play button

    How are you launching the game? Via Steam itself or via a shortcut on your desktop?
    If it is via a desktop shortcut please try through Steam, if this work delete your shortcut and create a new one.

    It seems that Steam had an outage yesterday, that might have been at the same time you experienced issues.
