A Question for the whales..

Im a VIP 14 so im technically not a noob but im also not a whale...and i need some 'professional' guidance for a question. I have a 1/5 fe EMH...he was the 2nd legendary i ever got and i have been playing for over a year and a half and i havnt gotten him as a choice in a behold since the first time he was offered. Im wondering if i should use 200,000 honor to get enough citations to ff him, in your opinions is it worth it?

I think guidance here is very dependent on your other crew and how much honor you have total.

First off, what does your med roster look like, if you have someone like age of sail crusher ff/fe the need for mobile doc is less urgent, however if your top base med is combat medic Paris it tilts it toward fusing him.

Consider other uses of the honor, do you have a few other crew at 4/5 or 3/5 that would become your best in their stats if fused and could be event crew, if you do, those crew might be a better use.

How much honor do you have, if this is would still leave you with 100k it might be better than if it uses all your honor.

The last is more for the mega whales out there, but there comes a point where you don’t want to spend honor on crew you can get in beholds since it will just add to the number of three ff beholds you get in the future. It’s a very high class problem to have, but still a consideration for some with 20+ ff legendaries.

how did you know...combat medic paris is my best med base...i do have aos Crusher 2/5 stars so she might be a better fit for all that honor plus her ship ability is not to shabby last i checked. and also i do have 2 other 3/5 crew but only one of them (when ff) would become my best in science...the other is mediocre and his best is sec and i have a ff Muskateer laforge and kortar for that department. i also currently have 20,000 honor but am level 57 and am close to gaining the 20,000 honor achievement.

Mobile doc is a better use than crusher, I even like his ship skill more (he starts for me in arena on the bounty). Mobile doc would boost your top med by 350 points over combat medic Paris. If you don’t have 2-3 good ones you can get from 3 or 4/5 to 5/5 instead this seems like a good use of honor.

I am in a similar position - it really depends on your other crew. I have 60K honour at the moment and have EMH at 2/5* FE.

My best MED is AOS Crusher. I also have Lt. Cmd. Dax at 3/5* FE.
My weakest skills are presently MED and SCI so I am trying to decide who to citate Holodoc or Dax.

My current train of thought is to hold off for an event featuring either Dax or EMH to give me an advantage in the event. In that time my honour would be higher or I might get lucky in a behold.

I'm in no rush to spend the honour so happy to sit tight for a while until the opportune moment.

DB is notorious for making previous "top" skill characters obsolete with a character that has no business becoming the top of his class. It's only a matter of time before they release some MED character that's better than mobile doc.

Save your honor, hope mobile doc gets that 2nd star, then decide from there if you want to burn some honor on citations.

I always use this site: http://ssr.izausomecreations.com/crewcost.html before making a decision of any sort. It is extremely important to know how a crew's stats will look like before he's fully fused and/or fully equipped.

The average roll and voyage score for him will be: DIP/SCI/MED of 679 / 967 / 1413 which is really good, so you need to decide for yourself if that is what your current crew setup needs.

I would personally save it up, because a new honor crew should be replacing Kahless in the foreseeable future. That is what I am saving up as well now.

Remember also that there is going to be a new character entering into the Honor Hall (i.e., made available to us in the same way as Kahless was), and so you might want to save some Honor for her/him when they appear

200k is a lot of honor to generate... I would build the honor but wait until he is in one of the feature packs with only 3 Legendaries or an event where he is featured, probably the 'best chance' of drawing him in pulls... He is the highest base MED, and has been since the beginning...

I don't think the whales like the term whales.

I'd hold on to the honor for that new Honor Hall 100k character. If it's good, then you can grab it right away! If it's bad, then you can make your decision as to whether you want to put all your citations into the Mobile EMH.

Personally I'd never put all my eggs in one basket. Maybe get him up to 4 stars and then upgrade some other character so that you have the potential to up him to 5 stars with a behold or something.

I wouldn't burn 200k on a single character ever. DB will put out a new event legendary that has no business being med and give it OP med. It's been an identified roster weakness for awhile. No other category still has a reigning base from launch.

Horrible advice, since hes only good for gauntlet, so 1/5 is all he needs. His MED base is below 1000, so for sure not worth spending citadations on him.

Well i do have enough CMD, DIP, and SEC crew, got admiral nechy, chancellor gowron, and kahless all fe so if the new guy/gal in the hall is a CDS (my nickname for CMD DIP SEC crew) then ill take a pass, but still good advise as he/she might not be so generic but might be a good MED SCI ENG crew.

Inevitably, DB will release a new MED crewmember that will top the EMH. I'd hold out (if you can) until such a character may appear in an event, especially if you have a couple of immortalized 4* MED crew like RAF Bashir, Holonovel EMH or Combat Medic Paris.

I currently have 23 x immortalized 5* crew and I'm starting to get legendary beholds with 2/3 options already fully fused. I try to avoid this situation by giving that extra star to a 3/5* crewmember than a 4/5* crewmember on the off chance that they appear in an event where I can get the final star with a top 1000 rank.

Highest base Med stat and super helpful for voyages, yeah DB will likely release a character with higher Med stats eventually. If the new honor hall crew is another Kahless like crew that's only good for gauntlet then I won't make that mistake twice. Granted prior to voyage gauntlet was more important but would not spend that much citations. Med is my still my weakest skill so I used several citations on Mobile Doc and Age of Sail Crusher. There are more power crew in the other skill sets so better chance of getting stars for those then Med.

Use the honor on all of your FE crew. After you get enough citations to make them FF then you can freeze them to make room for more crew.

Defensive Phlox isnt just good for gauntlet, but Voyages as well. His medical will be higher than Mobile Doctor's as will his science in Voyages.

Why not? It sounds like the situation you have means even in beholds that may feature him you'll have other options. Also even if he is passed for number one you'll still have a rock solid MED crew you can use 7 days a week.

What I think you're getting from a few folks is you are better off saving it for some future crew they release. What a few of those folks aren't mentioning is that to them 200k Honor might as well be 5-10k to somebody in our position.

It's a game. If you don't have unlimited funds my best advice is to enjoy the now. You want a 5/5 EMH and have saved 200k Honor then more power to you.

Well i dont have the 200,000 yet but i am closing in on 50,000 which is 25% of the way to 200,000. Since honor was released i have used (approxiamtely) 250,000 so thats why i would like some help from other players to see if this is a worthwile way to spend the honor i collect in a few months and since my bank book isnt fat enough to go spend 100 bucks on a whim to get any good med crew that may come along in an event this is looking like a better and better use of honor since i have an over 1000 in all areas except sci and med.

My citation criteria so far. These aren't hard and fast, but my general guidelines:

• ...is at least 2/5 (I don't have a lot of these, but going from 1/5 => 2/5 is not a big jump
• ...is not 4/5 (I don't want to increase my risk of "blank" legendary beholds for the future)
• ...has a primary base stat in my Top 3 for that skill, making them useful in faction events
• ...is a consistent participant on voyages
• ...is main cast (higher likelihood of being useful in events)

Given those guidelines, I've bought three legendary citations. Two were used to take Assimilated La Forge from 2/5 to 4/5 and the third brought Assimilated Janeway from 2/5 to 3/5.

I am also considering using citations for Locutus, Guinan, and Kahless since they are all in the tops for Voyage crew (all are 2/5 right now). I am waiting for them to announce how they are going to change the Gauntlet and Honor Hall characters until I pull the trigger.

Well, the most important question is... if you saved up 200k honor, would you regret using it all on Mobile Doc? It sounds like it will take you a couple months to save up that amount, so the landscape will likely be different by then. I think this thread is a little premature. Save it up and then decide.

A personal rule for me is to not use honor to add a 5th star as I don’t want to be in a position where I do so and then get the final star from a behold or event. I tend to use honor to move characters from 2/5 to 3/5 and 4/5. But, to each their own.

Dropping 200,000 honor on one character though seems like a lot IMHO.

Well i think what ill do is get 3 and then use them and not get his 5 star with a citation since he will inevitiably show up in a behold
