I just want to confirm my plans before I try it and possibly mess it up ...

If I merge:

Mobile Doctor, 1/5, LV 100

with:

Indignant Seven, 4/4, LV 1

Then I should get ... ?

Indulgent Seven, 1/5, LV 100

That is, it will take the level from the first one in the merge, even though the second one has more stars?

    Yes that will work. Although generally I don't level past 99 for my initial merge as a CYA.

    Okay, it didn't let me put the Doctor on the left side of the merge, but it still reassured me before merging that the result would be LV 100.

    You can’t merge a lvl 100. You need to keep him at lvl 99

    yes you can he isn't FF/FE. so you can use a fully geared lvl 100 1/5 but not a full geared lvl 100 4/4.

    Most people would go for a lvl 99 4/4 and a lvl 1 1/5 because them "purples" gear up more easy. But if you already have the 1/5 lvl 100 ... this is a logical option
