Voyages: Daily change of featured skills is most of the time a joke!

Most of us like a combination of "DIP / CMD / SEC". So do I.

Last time I got this was on halloween, 17 days ago.
Since then I got only 5 skill sets with DIP, CMD or SEC on primary skill.
On the other days I got mostly MED on primary (5 times).

Did you guys make similar experiences?

In the last couple of days I've had both a DIP/SEC and a MED/ENG. I haven't been keeping track, but it all seems to even out in my part of the galaxy.
  • I got the good stats usually. Command/dip comes up pretty regularly for me.

But when I get medical/science, it seems like it lasts 3 days in a row.

Just another way RNG screws us all at some point.

    So, you'd like to see
    CMD/DIP
    CMD/SEC
    DIP/SEC

That is only 1/5 (20%) of the 15 combinations. Basically, you should expect to be disappointed on any given day because the odds of you getting exactly one of those combinations is smaller than the others.

17 times in a row IS unlucky, but welcome to RNG.
  • I really dont care. I can make 6.30 - 7 hrs on any combination. 8hrs are only possible for Cmd/Sec and Dip/Sec. But i dont need that everyday and the difference between 6hrs to 7.45hrs is so an all it also does not make a difference.
Biggest impact is scheduling. I get up at 7 ans go to bed at 24. So in average i can make two 7 6hrs voyages per day. If the first voyage is only longer than 8 hrs i loose rewards Cuz the 2nd does Not make 6hr. so its more about timing and Strategy than the actual combination.

I went multiple days in a row with CMD/DIP/SEC combos, and I've rarely gotten something without at least one of those (today is CMD/SCI for instance).

You've gotten unlucky, but I don't think anything is broken...

I personally think that rather than straight RNG it should be weighted by the representation of said skill across all characters in the game. MED is underrepresented, so let it be less likely, etc.

I have MED/ENG today, and for me that is the worst combination. I quit after 6.5hrs.
I guess the RND evens itself out, while that happens I will continue to invest citations in key 3-skill crew who are good for voyages as well as shuttles.

My plan has been to try and get a few up to 3/5* so they can be more useful.

It's likely the worst combination for everyone. With so few crew having both MED and ENG, in most slots you'll be choosing one or the other, making it harder to get both to high levels.

My past 3 have been med/eng I'm starting to think there's a problem.
  • I've had SCI or MED as either the primary or secondary almost every single day for a long time now. I frequently get both.

    I finally rolled a Command/Security today.
  • In my case, they switch every day, so I have 2 similar hability voyages in a row, then the third has a different combination of skills.
  • Are they the same for everybody or not?

  • Yes it is, it is RNG at its best. If you get lucky, you can have like 2-3 days of skills that you can actually cover really well. That's when you need to take full advantage of it...

Usually when i've had bad combos its been accompanied by some pretty good matching traits bonuses and i've ended up with about 3000 am, so can't really complain!
