"Duplicate" label isn't appearing on crew anymore

I noticed this with my new Q Junior reward. I already have Q Junior immortalized but the UI isn't showing "Duplicate" over the fifth one like it used to.

I believe the duplicate label only is shown for crew in overflow.

In my experience this is correct. However, it would be a wonderful quality of life improvement to have some type of indication that we already have the crew.

This is really confusing, when you have over ~600 crew members, it would be nice to know if the new one you got is one you already immortalized 2 years ago and forgot about.

For me, it's a nice sanity check that I'm dismissing the correct crew.

I learned about this inconsistency when I first started playing and just accepted it would never be fixed and Shan's comment seemingly explaining it as a feature seems to bear that out. When I collect "new" crew from voyage or otherwise, I sort by level and start dismissing from the bottom. If I can't quite remember if I have it already, I double-check cryo. It's just the cost of doing business in this game. Praise will be forthcoming if they ever start fixing long-time bugs/annoyances.
