Homecoming Burnham - new crew?

Dabo rewarded me with a 2* item called "Homecoming Burnham's Antique Phaser", but I can't find any other reference to the character in the game. My assumption is she'll be a new crew member introduced in next week's event, as either the threshold new 4* or the ranked new 5* crew.

I think the theory was that the character was originally going to be called Homecoming Burnham but was renamed, or there is some deeper lore / show reason that I am unaware of since I haven't watched Discovery yet.

He grew up as the boy named Mary Sue.😉
