I love Voyages: travelling through deep space and going "where no one has gone before" (yet, I feel improvements can be made on Voyages.) Why not also have treks that tour known star systems?
Deep Space Nine, or Bjorn, Romulan, Ferrengi, Klingon, etc. home worlds, and nearby them, all may have adventures and perks to visit. Much in the style of Voyages, enlist your best or best suited crew. Use your best ship. Recruit new exemplary crew from the known territories. Win over races, possibly by helping (not unlike shuttle missions, but on a grander scale, with a larger crew and more resources,) as you go. Interact with them and these areas, until you come full circle: back to your home world, like no waiting to return home, as in Voyages.
Is this a wanted idea or no? It might be a good way to advance You and Your crew, Dear Captains and Admirals?
