Favorite crew not persisting between android and steam

I've had this happen a few times - thought it was something I did - but I've been double checking things closer lately.
It's very consistent .. here's the steps to re-create:
1) login to Android device (I have no idea if this occurs with IOS or not )
2) get a new crew, and mark it favourite.
3) level it up a bit .. whatever ..
4) close the app
5) open steam app.
6) note that the crew you marked is "gone" .. search them .. find them . re-mark them favourite.
7) at this point, the favourite persists.
pretty sure it didn't do this before .. I've only started noticing it in the last few weeks .. (maybe month?) again not 100% sure when it first started.
