What's done is done, what I am hoping for is a more positive reaction not when it comes to Community rewards, but the other problems that multiple players have raised as concerns: tiered rewards overhaul, the cryostasis vault, prompts to avoid random expenditure of dilithium through misclicks, and so on.
My problem with the Event is not the higher cost for Community Rewards. It's that it is still a Holiday weekend. I will have three hours tomorrow afternoon and one hour Monday morning to participate......

Sure. Why not? I think most would agree the communication on this has been poor, and I've always counted myself as part of the "better late than never" camp. I'm expecting that nothing will change, but some useful engagement would go a long way.

Yes, an official answer would be very welcome. For me personally galaxy events are "broken" since the introduction of the 5x chron packs you can buy. This is sooooo pay2win like nothing else in the game. My motivation of doing galaxy events is virtually zero since that change.
And "Fast as Light" has two more things that make me despise galaxy events even more:
- instead of shortening the event because of Thanksgiving they extend it
- the community gets punished because of higher activity instead of simply adding another community reward at a higher level
Personal guess: sooner than later the solo rewards will get nerfed as well.
Quo vadis, galaxy events? In their current design I would not care if they simple vanished and never came back.
If I were in DB's shoes I would think it prudent, in the light of recent news, to give reassurance to the players. I wasn't encouraged to see that the relevant discussion thread had been opened and closed before I'd even had a chance to wake up and contribute to it.
I do try to err on the side of positivity despite having numerous concerns about the game, but I'm afraid that if anything yesterday's news has made me less, not more inclined, to continue spending money . Even if we forget about new content and events there are still a number of bugs and basic UI issues which need to be addressed. If presumably there are now less staff working on the game, why should we be any more confident that these longstanding issues will be addressed? What is the long term future of this game? What is the plan? Until these issues are addressed substantively and through official channels I wouldn't blame player for being reluctant to continue spending their own money.
As pretentious as it is to quote myself, I think every word is still applicable. If you said 'Ok, guys, we have listened, but it's too late to change this event' that would have been better than nothing. Instead, nothing is all we get. I'm afraid I won't be buying any packs for this event - despite being a bit Jadzia fan.
I would say yes. even if its only to apologise for the wording of the announcement which was more insulting than honestly saying hey you know what, the galaxy event rewards are too easily reached for a game that is meant to encourage cooperative play.
I'd like to think DB just are very bad at communicating, Not wanting to stereotype but computer geeks/nerds (self included) are not the best communicators.
My main concern is the length of the event and the rewards table in general. After finishing top 50 last event for painfully mediocre rewards (7 pulls, yielded 300 schematics and 400 honour) given the effort to get there I am starting to not want to play the game anymore as its entertainment value is limited and it is becoming less enjoyable to play!
Its a long weekend. We will hit all the community rewards.
I'm sure we will hit the community rewards the first day. That's not the issue at all. The issue is that the player base asked for some changes to make the longer event more worth it, such as another tier of community rewards or higher VP rewards. Instead, they raise the total points needed to reach the community rewards and sell it to us as an improvement. If they were going to go through the time and trouble to make a change it could have at least been something good. As it is now they made a change that literally does nothing, but they want us to feel like it was for our benefit.

It's not the event itself that's the issue but the general lack of communication.
Improve the communication and the event feedback itself is a non issue for me.
