Bridge crew disappears on fuse

It appears that if you have someone on your bridge who's not IM, and you fuse them to bring them up a level, they are removed from your bridge.
My speculation is that the reason for this may be that the character id changes. They probably create a new one for the upgraded character and delete the two that were fused to make it.
If that's the case then this is possibly unintended behavior but a fix would be a bit more of a challenge, although certainly doable by first checking to see if any of the crew are on the bridge and if they are, replace them (or one of them in case of characters like Cheesecake Seven) with the new one after it's created.
