Training Holoprograms Cap

smygztlfsbmn.jpeg
I didn't realise there was a cap on the number of Trainers you could hold. Surplus trainers used to have some value as replicator fodder, but now that Voyages provide a good supply of rations that value has waned. Rewards of trainers in the Gauntlet and Voyages for long term players is basically delivering nil value.

Hah, didn't even bother to change the field type to an unsigned integer! This really does argue for another way to burn trainers, like some kind of starbase store.
  • Same thing happens with star base components
  • Holy sheet! That's 56,863,045 XP - enough to level 193½ crew from 1 to 100!

I noticed this too. Then I spent a few minutes pressing on my screen and the problem went away.
  • Soooo, i assume you never use the replicator? :D;)

That’s what I was thinking. When I replicate, first I dump trainers, then ship schematics, then replicator fuel.

32767 is the cap for items within the game it doesnt seem to cap Dilithium though 🤔

I'm VIP13 and only have 4 replications/day. Many only have 1. I don't replicate a 5* item unless I absolutely have to or if the cost is less than the items in the build because I value 250k credits that can be used on more builds than 1 5*. Even if I do replicate a 5* item, it only takes 32 or 36 4* rations. I have 1,800 4*, 2,000 3*, and 1,000 2* - I will NEVER use them all if I tried. I'm still building a few ships, but those 4* and 5* that are complete, the ship schematics have built up to 3k+. Trainers I can always use until I have no crew to train. I've run into too many times that I'm out of trainers that I hesitate to use them for replicating in case Voyages get nerfed. I currently have over 2k of each (7k 3* trainers), but I have at least 15 crew at L1 and another 20-25 between 30-90, so I still have a use for trainers.

Of course not. You think the stink on these forums is bad now about crew slot limitations, duplicate beholds, and other limitations in the game... wait until the big spenders get a cap on what they pay money for - dilithium! When it costs 15,000 dilithium for a 5* in a faction store, you can bet there are spenders that go buy the dilithium to get that guaranteed crew from the store rather than a useless behold from a "chance of" pack.

I have one replicator use a day. Voyages gives me more rations than I can use(even if I replicate a 5* every day). PvP and dabo are giving me more schematics for ships I already have FF. Trainers continue to pile up and I'm over 9m credits. It's gotten to the point where merits are the only thing I'm running out of.
  • We should be able to cash trainers in for honor. They cost honor to buy, after all.

Everything should be recyclable for honor, or credits.

So long and thanks for all the fish.
  • Wow... Did no one think that people might hit the max value of a 32 bit int? Just make is unsigned or even better, an unsigned long. Then we can race to see who hits 4,294,967,295 trainers first.

It not just trainers but all equipment and components. I bet if you try hard you can do it with schematics :)

And I think the other meant that is an obscene amount of XP. Its an expression.

Sheet = a bad word that gets filtered... My calculation is the actual XP per trainer:

    327670 (32767x10)
    819175 (32767x25)
    3276700 (32767x100)
    4397000 (8794x500)
    48042500 (19217x2500)
    ========
    56,863,045 / 293,910 XP to reach level 100 = 193½ crew can be leveled.
  • Ahh the days of actually using trainers or schematics in the replicator... Good times.

Wesley, or Boomer. Then 'lock them.
  • The only reason I have to airlock 2* crew instead of immortalizing them is not enough trainers. How do you manage to accumulate so many?
  • I may not have 32767 trainers, but I do have every 2* crew. That's my reason to airlock 2*'s .... ;-)
My trainers now go into levelling new 3*'s and new event crew.
Sometime in the future there will be a point where trainers will flow in more abundantly than new crew will need.

Having said that, I've just noticed I have 32767 nanopolymers. I think probably anyone could get that many of them though, they drop by the boatload.

  • I guess I need to submit a ticket every day when my trainers and other inventory items are lost due to being over the cap. Maybe with enough tickets it will get fixed.

Yeah it seems trivial, but we work for this stuff, either through the grinding or sometimes with real cash purchases. Just letting it go poof without giving us any ability to sell it or use it isn't acceptable. That's like the bank saying they are just going to keep any amount over $10,000 that gets deposited into your checking account.
