Ship names in Voyages

It would be great if ship names persisted between Voyages.
I'm rather partial to Culture style ship names, but have to come up with new ones each voyage rather than the "You were expecting someone smaller?" being ready to use again on subsequent missions.

Basically, just find an adjective and put U.S.S. at the front. Works every time.

I just name them with the amount of antimatter at launch. Makes it easier to keep track and feed it to the voyage calculator.

Naming your ship after mundane objects is comedy gold.

One of the players in my fleet used to call the ship "Toilet". The screenshots they shared of the "Off the Books" dilemma were hilarious.

I always name my ships for cities and counties n which I've live. It works fairly well for me except that for some incomprehensible reason, it won't let me name it after one of the cities I lived in in the Philippines. Cities are not as funny as mundain items, but I usually stick to a system once I start it.

This is something I would like to see as well. I used to name the ships but I no longer bother. Having it stick would be great.

I wish the names could be longer, once I tried “The Dark and Brooding Cloak of Untrammeled Destiny,” it was too long.

I’ve tried using “Gwyrddfaen”, Welsh for ‘emerald’ or more literally ‘greenstone’, but it annoyingly is also blocked.
