Celebrating Women’s History Month, and more!

Greetings, Captains!

March is Women’s History Month and we’re celebrating with a free behold pack available in the Time Portal until Wednesday, March 30 around noon ET (16:00 UTC).

March also means Spring has arrived, and it is as good a reason as any to have a catch up session!

To that effect WRG_Ben made an appearance on Timelines Talks, a player-run stream, and here’s the summary of what has been discussed.

Let’s start with things to look forward to in April:

April 3: WRG_Ben, Joe and Fury will make a special appearance for the charity stream that will take place on that day. Feel free to join in on Twitch to say hi.

April 5: First Contact Day!
We’ll have free crew slots, a new collection for the ‘ displaced’ trait, and a free pack to celebrate our presence at ..

April 8 - April 10: Star Trek: Mission Chicago!
That’s right, STAR TREK TIMELINES will have a presence at the convention.
If you are attending, do not miss WRG_Ben’s panel on Saturday (04/09). He will talk about the game’s history and share some stories. To top it all he will also be in the gaming area to demo the game and provide a first look at the brand new feature we are working on.

Now for some Qs and As:

- Will the Honor Hall new crew pace continue and will there be a Honor Hall collection?
We plan on continuing to add new Honor Hall crew, but do not have a specific cadence in mind. As for a specific collection, it is still undecided at this time.

- Crew Retrieval was released one year ago, did the feature perform as expected?
Yes! Thanks to the hard work of our design and engineering teams we were able to release this feature and solve a pain point. We’re satisfied with the results, and with the opportunities this gives to players.

- Are there any plans for more Episodes or Distress Calls?
There is at least one Distress Call we’d like to release, but it is a question of priority and resources. It is not off the table yet!

- Lower Decks in STT?
We’re still working on it, it is coming along.

- Are Objective Events achieving their goals?
We have multiple goals with Objective Events, and that is why they will vary in style.
The main goal is to provide something for players to engage with on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Endurance Objective Events also provide us with an easier way to have month-long giveaways. There will be more iterations done for existing OEs and you can also expect to see some that will be more specifically aimed at new players, as a way to surface various aspects of STT gameplay.

- Can a new type of event be expected?
This is still very much on our list, and design work has been done to explore some ideas.

- Will existing achievements be updated?
This is something we’d like to do, but it first requires making sure that doing so would not break anything.

- How about collections for 4* and 5*, or crew with pets?
It has not been ruled out but due to the amount of crew involved we’d first need to rethink what it would look like, tiers and rewards wise.

A collection for crew with pets is also something we’d like to do but any collection that does not involve a trait is less easy to set up and has to be scheduled more carefully.

- Community Rewards in all event types?
This is still something we’d like to do but at this time there are other items that take priority.

- Will there be more areas of the game, such as the arena, that will integrate the search function for crew?
This is something we’d like to do, but it is a lower priority at this time.

- The fuse/immortalization objective in Objective Events is a burden on a lot of players, will it be revised?
Player’s feedback was very clear on this so we are looking at some iteration, this will take some time however.

- Any update on the Voyage bug?
We’ve been unlucky so far but we hope the latest analytics added with 8.3.0 will provide us with useful information.

- Are we considering new features for this year?
Yes, we are exploring a lot of ideas and one of them is coming along nicely and will involve fleet and crew depth! We’ll soon be able to share more details about it, starting with Star Trek: Mission Chicago! A very tentative schedule for this feature is late Q2. There are also plans for additions in Q3 and Q4, but keep in mind that it is subject to change.

We’re excited about what’s in store for STAR TREK TIMELINES this year, and we cannot wait to talk more about it.

Thank you for playing,

The STAR TREK TIMELINES Team
