Selecting a crew member to share with Squadron for The Daystrom Award event

Hello, I have a couple questions for the Squadron Leaders here...

When you select a crew member to share with your squadron, do you go with what the game puts in first place in their drop down list? Does it consider bonus crew when determining which crew would be the best choice?

The reason I ask, is that when I went to select the crew to share during this event, the game placed my immortalized 5* Kortar as the first choice. Even though I also have a immortalized 4* Drone Seven of Nine, a immortalized 4* Captain Janeway, a 1/5* FE level 100 Seven of Nine, and an immortalized 4* Doctor Chapel ... all of which are bonus crew. But they didn't even rank close to the top of the drop down list, however they seem to be showing up on shuttle missions with higher numbers than Kortar. I'm sure a lot of that depends on the mission skills being used, but is there a way to know which one would actually be best?

Thanks!

You never want to take the one at the top. It does not sort in a way that takes event crew bonuses into the equation. Exact event crew give triple the stat (so a stat of 500 would count as 1500 on a shuttle) and variants of event crew, like the ones you listed, give double (so 500 becomes 1000). You probably want to share the one that adds up to the highest total points. Do the doubling/tripling of each stat and then add up the values to get a total.

Of course that’s only a guideline. Specific stats can change that. For example if your crew with the highest adjusted total points includes Medical (or some other stat) that isn’t really used much, or at all, on any of the shuttles, then you probably wouldn’t pick that crew even though it had the highest points
  • The system does not put the best choice at the top for shared crew or for shuttles.

For event crew 3x. So just based on 3* boost add 250 to skill and multiply by 3.

    Repeat for 2x bonus crew.

Also when I don’t have an obvious choice I consider the event. This event is sci heavy.

I have temp seven ff/fe so nothing to think about but if I didn’t I would evaluate my crew this way.
  • Thanks!! That is exactly the information I was looking for!

Interesting, I didn't know the calculation behind the bonuses. Do you add the 250 before or after the multiplication? Like would it be 500x2, then plus 250 to = 1250. Or 500+250, then times 2 to = 1500? Seems the latter from what you said, but just double-checking.

I believe you add before. All points are multiplied. That’s why faction bonus crew is so important. Even a rare “blue” crew member can be helpful.
