New Event Type: Super Event

I'm kinda throwing this out there to see what people think, maybe give DB some ideas.

I like mega events, but sometimes they feel quite intense and they make, to me, the usual weekend events feel a bit tame by comparison. They must also be quite hard work for the DB crew. So I was wondering if they'd like to create a different type of event, and I'm still trying to think of a catchy name, but basically a double event over two weekends. A fortnight long event, just here and there. A Super Event maybe.

These could cover things like a Combs style event, because we need one of those, or to give a small character boost to some of the lesser crewed Factions without having to overwork at it. I'm thinking Hirogen (3 characters), Dominion (8 characters), and Section 31 (4 characters).

What would you like to see as a Super Event?

    Just to clarify, are you talking about an event that runs continuously for 2 weeks, or two separate weekend events tied together in a theme of some sort?

    Important distinction, to be sure. I think most people would balk at a two-weeks' straight event.

    Two weeks long. No. Definitely not, please no way, nuh-huh.
    Tied two weeks in a row, yeah, I'd like that.
    Maybe even an event that tracks thresholds for all 4 days or, *shudder* 14, but every day the ranks reset, and the top 50 or 250 players are excluded from ranking the next day, but automatically get their same ranked rewards again.

    Good grief not two weeks long! I find 4 days more than enough. No, I'm thinking two weekends tied together thematically. Sorry if it sounded anything otherwise!

    The Dominion & Hirogen factions, according to the Star Trek Timelines Wiki calendar of events, have only been featured in an event 3 times each, out of more than 75 events total to date. That alone should be enough to justify they get more event exposure.
    Add in the Federation you have the typical 3 faction shuttle event, but here's where the switch up comes into play.
    Instead of it just being a faction event, make it change halfway to a different event type, so instead it's a hybrid.
    Have the Federation crews for Phase 2 each week switch. (Week/Phase one be DS9 based crew, Week/Phase 2 be Janeway...I mean Voyager crew)
    Have it run over 2 weekends, ie Phase1 Fri, Sat Phase 2. Sat, Sun each week. Total the Event Victory Points over both weekends to determine final standings.

    Just a random idea not completely worked thru but may be improved upon

    Def not a 2 week long event. I don't like the length of the events as it is.

    OP already clarified that's not what they meant.

    I'm in favour of this type of thing, it would definitely be nice to have something in between the one shot events and the mega events. It would also be nice to have some use for non-main cast characters, so if they could make bonus crew something like "all Vorta" or "all Crafty" that would be nice.

    What would you like to see as a Super Event?

    I like the idea. It would improve some of my frustration....

    As an example, for this past event I had a 1/4 Temporal Seven which was FE/100, and then when I picked up the rank rewards at event end she became FF... and is essentially my worst 4/4 crew, which means she is likely going in the freezer. Chapel is marginally better...But if there was an event this week when Seven and Chapel were now (re)featured that would be pretty cool.

    Perhaps something where the event rank rewards are actually crew for the next event (or perhaps a bonus somewhere between event crew (3x) and variants (2x).

    I have found it interesting as well that scans will give transmissions for every faction EXCEPT Hirogen and Dominion.
