Well...that's just lame (heh-heh-heh!)

Logged into STT earlier to check on the progress of a voyage, knowing that I would soon be running out of anti-matter. I noticed this 'peculiar' entry appear in the ship's log just as I checked the status. I've seen some lame names for ships within the game - but this has got to be the lamest yet.

(OK..yes. It's probably an oversight. Just having a few laughs while I can...)

Have you seen Data land in sickbay yet? That one cracks me up

I swear, some of the names I've seen in there I thought were crossovers from really juvenile players. Boy, I sure hope those were players that put those names in.

Heh-heh! Yes, I actually have had that one appear in the log a few times. Something along the likes of, "Mirror Archer and Tempted Data were admitted to sick bay when they experienced stomach cramps after eating replicated food...blah, blah, blah." I can imagine that Data might experience some sort of pain(s) or system complication(s) in his abdominal region if he did try to ingest replicated food. But, that isn't likely to land him in sick bay in need of medical assistance - more likely he'd be taken to a science or engineering or robotics lab where they could extricate the matter. But, I digress...
  • Wait, people read those?

Its showing other peoples ships. I've named one of my ships that now and again.
Also do Padme Pakesh for the Prakesh, and a few other things....

Gotta find your laughs where you can folks, its only life after all.
  • I tend to rename any ship with a "." in it, simply because the cadence of the text is interrupted by said punctuation.

I've tried making up clever names, but I lack the intellect and imagination.

    I am smart!

They're all doomed to failure anyways, so Charon ferries my crew down the River Styx often.

Wait. Is this true? If so, that's actually kind of cool.

That was the case early on in Voyages, but I was under the impression that the bug which occasionally showed other players' ship names had been fixed. I haven't noticed it myself for quite a while. What still does occur, is the default template name in the code. Also, I think it still sometimes gets crew messed up — either a crew member is listed who's not on your Voyage, and/or the wrong crew's image is displayed next to the proper crew member's name.

Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

That was in cases where it was listing your own ship (or supposed to) there are ones where you encounter other ships as well that I think are still pulling from other players.

Ah. Wouldn't surprise me. It feels like Voyages have had far more bugs in them than any other individual component of the game, and possibly more than all the other elements combined.

  • I'll admit, I loved that bug with Voyages. I liked seeing ship names from other players.

I did like using Harry Potter's X-Wing Tardis for my ship name until they fixed that bug.

Actually, Data was taken to Sickbay a few times for them to work on him, and Engineering others. I know he was in Sickbay when Q was turned into a human and he took the shot at the warp core, and also for examination during Schisms as well.

What's really needed is notifications on the main screen when you've got a dilemma or a refill to do. I often miss these otherwise, only getting to them much later.
