Are Chroniton's no longer a Currency Box reward in the Gauntlet?

The last two I've participated in, I've gotten them as final rewards, but haven't seem any during the actual challenges. Haven't seen any yet this round either. Or is it just a string of bad luck?

Wouldn't you know it. Almost immediately after posting this the box dropped 20 Chronitons. So I guess they are still in there.

Chronitons are not currency. Currency boxes drop merits or credits. Chronitons drop from streak boxes.
