I don't like automatic collection of Fleet Target rewards

A lot of the time I'm not ready to collect the chrons. I don't always have time to spend them at that very moment and collecting them would put me over the chron cap which would result in loss of chrons.

Please rework this to not be automatic, but still be tied to the button.

Please reverse this change. I can't see any benefit to having it.

If you do not enter the Hub, they do not collect. Just wait until your are full, and get however many days of them there are.

I agree @Darxide that it may inconvenience some of us that wait to collect chrons to stay recharging. I am one of these people. However, I think the benefit to those not based in the US far outweigh the inconvenience it will cause us. Remember that many people miss out on their chrons and this change will allow them to collect what they should have been getting all this time. I will happily endure going over my chron cap at inopportune times for the trade off that all players are able to claim their rightful chrons.

As a wise man once said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

I like the changes, mainly because I have {on work days} one hour before work and 3 to 4 hours after work to get my stuff done. This way, I do not miss stuff that the Fleet completes after my day is over.

hmm, that actually brings up an interesting tactic to save up chrons before galaxies for weeks at a time. However, you need to go into the hub to get to the starbase to donate so you would be not contributing to the rewards at all however.

The benefit is that people get to collect all of their rewards regardless of their timezone. You know, the thing all non-US players have been asking since the fleet target rewards were put in the game. There is no downside to the change, and a huge upside to it. I can't believe someone STILL asks to reverse it.

Yea, ok. I just won't contribute any donations or do any squad management. Real great advice there, champ.

Agreed with the criticism. I understand the benefit, and I'm glad DB addressed the problem, but this is not a good implementation. It's like the early events where you had to claim just by clicking to enter. Claiming should be a separate function from the rest of fleet interactions. I'm ok with a single claim rewards like events, but it needs it's own button.

Honestly, it's such a small downside for North and South Americans, and such a huge upside to everyone else, I don't think it should be reverted.

    Re-worked? Maybe. But not reverted.

Also, even as someone who lives in EST, I've missed out on rewards if I have a busy evening or go to bed early.

There is a workaround if you want, but yes that does come with its own obvious downside (not donating etc.). Decide what's more important for you and do that.

If you have an alternative suggestion that benefits everyone, put it in "Make It So".

Damned if you do, damned if you don't if you're DB, I guess.

More like, "Damned if you don't and damned if you do poorly." If they want the rewards to not expire and to stack up, then leave it on the button. Don't make it automatic. I'm 100% against the automatic collection as anybody with two brain cells to rub together could gather form my initial post. For crying out loud, the FRIGGIN' TITLE OF THIS POST(!) says exactly that. "I don't like the automatic collection". But no, people just want to be on the "other side" and argue that I'm completely wrong and everything is fine. I don't understand the need to be contrarian about everything. Maybe I jumped the gun by asking for the change to be reversed, but still. Read my post and see what I said, not what you heard. This goes for everyone, not just who I quoted.

And I've gone ahead and edited that last part about reversing it so that people can lower their blood pressure a notch or two.

Anyway. I've said my peace. I've explained and clarified my position. I'm out of this thread because I can already see the toxicity that's seeping into it and I don't need that. Do you know how hard it is to get that stuff out of clothing? The dry cleaners charge extra for it.

In the future, I suggest you clarify and explain your position first, instead of waiting for everyone to react to your not clarified and explained position.

Any "toxicity" came as a result of you implying (unwittingly apparently, but still) had an issue that didn't matter/exist, and then reacting very strongly to the reactions of those people. But there was actually very little hostility in the replies you got IMHO.

I like the change and, with Voyages, I can't remember the last time I was below the chroniton cap.

Throwing away 240 chrons a day seems awfully silly.

All of my 181 active crew members are fully equipped. As I get new crew I'm able to level them up immediately. It's fine with how I play the game.

So I think there might be some misunderstanding here, and maybe on my part too.

The goal of this change is only to allow players that were not able to collect the rewards before the reset, to automatically receive them the next day.

There is no stacking involved and while the day is current, the rewards are not automatically claimed.
You can claim them at your leisure before the new day, or get them automatically on the next day instead of losing them.

    Thanks for the clarification @Shan!

Thanks for the explanation Shan! now that we know we can collect them "exactly as we do now" or not loose them if we fall asleep before that last threshold is reached... and to be clear.. for example...

Day 1.. you reach 100 chron threshold.. and don't collect...
Day 2... you go into the fleet area..and "immediately" get the 100 chrons... and say perhaps that your fleet has already reached the 20 chron level.. it would be there "waiting" for you to hit the "collect button.
and... if for some reason you don't log in at all on day 2...
on Day 3 you log in and ONLY get day 2's threshold rewards, Day 1 is "lost" since you didn't log in for 24 hrs after day 1....., so no "Stacking" which means people can't just "not collect for weeks" and then "cash in for 1000's of chron's"

So DB has given the BEST of both worlds! you don't loose anything by missing the "end of day rollover" and have the ability to collect mid-day, just as you do now.

if this is how it works....I don't know HOW anyone can complain about this great Enhancement.

    WELL DONE!

There would have been an easy (and obvious) solution to the problem. All rewards will be awarded the NEXT day. This way everybody get exactly 24 hours to collect their rewards and within that time frame can do it whenever they want.
But if we have learned anything by now, it is that DB never goes for the obvious solution. Everything has to be somewhat off and cumbersome...it's their shtick!

Shan just explained how it works and it is the perfect solution for everyone. Look up.

I think it will be clearer for everyone tomorrow :)

On my end I purposely have not claimed the current Fleet Targets rewards available via the claim button today, and accessing the Fleet hub didn't add any rewards automatically.

I think as Shan explained, this is a very good solution and implementation. Stops hoarding, but doesn't punish you for living in the wrong timezone.

And as an EU player, I sincerely appreciate that!

The change is perfect. Well done.
  • So, yeah, this didn't work.

Our fleet got the last 50 chronitons, and I didn't collect it. Waited until 12am EST for the Starbase to reset, went into the Starbase, and nothing. No automatic collection, no increase in chronitons.
