New Rewards in the Gauntlet?

I just opened a 3-streak box and got a 1-star Terran Emblem. I don't have any characters that need this as an equipable item. I also have never seen it before. Perhaps the rewards have been updated with faction items?!?

If you don't have any equipable items at the rarity the box is giving you, then I think it just gives you a random equipment. It might also pull from the crew that are in the airlock waiting to be ejected (dismissed crew that you can still get back)

I thought about this being the case but don't have any airlocked crew that can use it (in fact, there are only three total that can according to the wiki). I'm used to getting 2-star and higher that I can't use, but never a 1-star. But, maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part

Either way, probably lucky considering the mega event. Could have been Slug-o-Cola or Dominion PADD or something like that instead

Equippable items as Gauntlet rewards are working more or less exactly like Dabo Wheel. There is an increased chance of getting something you need, but no guarantee...the more slots you have open on your crew (especially 0* to 3* items) the higher your chance you get something you need. Reenlistment crew is always a drag when it comes to getting that, since you could get equipment for them too...

I personally have a few crew with intentionally open slots for rare to find items: DS9-Writing PADD, Laser Scalpel, Encoded Communique, etc. That way I collect from time to time an extra item of that kind.

did you perhaps have someone recently airlocked that could have used it?
just as the dabbo wheel will give you "equipable items" for airlocked, but not expired crew.

I got a 2* Staments pistol from the Dabo Wheel today. My Staments is FF/FE, so that's just a piece of trash that will sit in my equipment inventory. When there's a 2* I actually need on the wheel, I get the 0* shirt. FML and this game.
