General Mortars

There are 47 legendary ships in the vault. There are 16215 combinations to draw 3 random ships. If you need one specific ship (e.g.Artifact) 2070 of those 16215 combinations contain that desired ship, giving us a probability of 13% to gain 150 schematics.

Therefore, every behold grants 19 schematics of the desired ship.

Therefore, leveling a ship from 9 to 10 requires 95 beholds at a cost of 475,000 honor.

Useless.

Thanks for doing the math. I was pretty sure it was a terrible deal and that confirms it. Until TP is willing to admit that 1800 schematics to go from 9 to 10 at 150 a drop is the problem, this is all decorations that avoids the real problem.

Yeah. These Beholds {and the ones for the Crew} are very diluted. So many Ships, it is highly unlikely to "luck" into the specific Schemes you need.

Now a "Theme" pack could work. Borg, Mirror, series, etcetera, but not this.

150 schematics is slightly less than 2 days of ranking in the top 10% of arena, or slightly less than 4 days of ranking in the top 20%.

5000 honor is in no way worth even a week of arena. It's far too overpriced, especially with the diluted pool to draw from.

For 5000 honor I would expect to be able to get AT LEAST the 1800 schematics Avi mentioned.

I just got 500 U.S.S. Le Guin schematics on my voyage from a behold. Burden of Proof option C isn't so useless anymore.

That would cost you 20,000 honor (for 600 schematics), even if you got lucky and hit on 1/47 odds 4 straight times in the new offer! hahaha

That's assuming all ships have an equal chance of dropping. It has been suggested before that the artifact has a lower chance than older ships.

I hope this is the first step to putting ship beholds in premium packs.

I would also suggest voyages are currently the best bet for schematics.

at 500 honor I would absolutely pull these, but at 5,000 that is just terrible.

I’m sitting on a lot of honor but with the odds of getting what I would like (specifically to finally finish the Artifact) I figure I’ll get one of the many that I’ve already finished or some for one that I’m far from finishing. I’ll go with my chances on a long voyage instead. Ugh.

All I have is my experience, but those last 37 Arty Schemes took about five to six months to drop. I got loads of Schemes for stuff that was already done in those months. I'll look and see what kind of Pack it was. I wanna say the Event Pack looking for Hoshi last week.

EDIT: Yeah. It was while I was Hoshi-hunting.

Much too expensive for me. The only ships I'm really interested in are the Jem'hadar Flagship and the Hiawatha, both for their voyage utility. There's plenty of others that I haven't completed yet but they're mostly vanity projects, it'd be nice to finish them but they wouldn't actually add anything gameplay-related.

If the cost was 500-1000 for the legendaries I'd seriously consider it. As it is, it's a hard pass from me.

I don't think I'd pull at 500 either; not for 150 schematics. If they are going to nickel and dime us with schematic amounts, then the schematics should cost nickels and dimes.

I'd pull if it was 50 honor. Which, in my mind, makes a lot of sense. Pull a crappy basic pack, get 50 honor for a 2* green, spend that honor on some schematics. Rinse, repeat.
