Possible canon ways Terran Empire Picard exists.

edited December 2017 in The Bridge
I havent read any of the mirror TNG comics but i have a couple of theories as to how Mirror Picard can exist without wearing a terran slave emblam. Perhaps the I.S.S. Enterprise D was wisked away by Mirror Caretaker like Voyager. Because of that Her crew couldn't be beaten by the KCA when it arose because it was on its way home.
Perhaps it is one of the few surviving Terran vessels that is on the run from the KCA hoping to mount a guerilla resistance. Post your other theories and back stories here.
EDIT: changed cannon to canon...learn something new everyday.

  • Multiple realities.

We already have the prime and mirror universes but its possible they aren't the only ones. There could very well be divergent realities where the Terran Empire didn't fall or are still at war with the KCA.

As for multiple realities it has been explored before with episodes like TNG "Yesterdays Enterprise" where the Federation is at war with the Klingon Empire.

I am under the impression that the KCA hadn't quite conquered all of the Terran Empire by 2360. The ISS Stargazer is just a small remnant of what's left.

That's what makes the most sense to me. The empire has been contained to a small region around Earth and Mirror Picard is making a last stand for the empire.

But, as I believe I mentioned elsewhere, I recall "Smiley" implying that he's basically always been a slave, and has known nothing else. So the KCA must have been fairly well-established at that point.

Memory Beta said the KCA started the war in 2295. Even then I don't find it unreasonable for there to be remnants of the Terran Empire left. Its quite likely that the majority of the Terran population have only known slavery.

Hmm, yeah that makes sense. I guess especially since we were seeing them at DS9/Terok Nor, which would have been deep in KCA territory.

We're not shooting things. We're talking about something canonistic.

Would canonical be appropriate as well as canonistic?

Either canonalian or canonophical would be my personal preference.

(Kidding. I agree with your pet peeve, Magisse. :p )

Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

It's also known as the 90's comic book dimension.

Mirror Picard has giant arm cannons. Who is going to tell him what he can and can't do? No one.
