Did something change with the crew quarters default sort?

Seven of Nine (in blue, holding the phaser rifle) used to be in first position in my crew quarters. First position has now changed to Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax (gray uniform, holding the cards). Did anyone have the same thing happen? I've always wondered how the default sort was... sorted. Does anyone know? I love both characters so it doesn't matter, I'm asking because I'm curious. Thanks.

First crew listed are the ones you have marked as favorites the heart (this does not allow freezing or airlocking)
The order of the crew is then determined by what can be equipped or is ready to be built plus possible fuse. So the max number in that little Orange circle is 5.
I do not know if level then affects those with 5 or not?
Then have no idea what is used of those with 5 and same level.
Maybe the same order in the Cryo chamber for default.

But the bottom of the lists in your favorites and then of those not marked as favorites, will be immortalized. ** edit**My mistake I think crew that cannot be fused and do not have equipment will be below immortalized based on level.**

Probably what I am know you know. However, I thought I would just mention them.
  • Thanks WaldoMag. I don't have quipped crew and appreciate your thoughts. Yeah, it's the regular default sort for immortalized.

Is it possible the QP experience is what changed Seven's position. When Seven's is maxed for QP (1300) maybe she will be the first again?.
  • I had thought that perhaps the recent trait audit added traits to Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax that would have pushed her favorability for fusing over and above that version of Seven of Nine, but if anything, it was Seven whose favorability should have increased through added traits. Thus, I'm similarly mystified unless the trait audit pushed a subtle tweak to the default sort algorithm.
  • Here's what I have worked out about the DEFAULT sort criteria in Crew Quarters:
    1) Favorites
    2) Items that can be equipped (descending)
    3) Crew level (descending)
    4) Rarity (descending)
    5) Stars equipped (descending)

Fusible crew may also be a higher sort criteria, perhaps after #2 but before crew level.
I also suspect that there may be one additional sort criteria, but can't verify that. But when you click on the 'Reenlistment' icon and then return to the main crew listing, the order of similarly sorted crew DOES change each time you switch. It appears to rotate in a particular (unknown) cycle.

I worked this out long before Continuum missions were added, so I don't know if they affect the default sort listings.

I think having a possible fuse counts as an extra "item" - certainly I've had crew with a 5 in the little yellow circle when they had all four slots able to be filled and another copy of them in overflow.
  • There's 2 things to note about the 2nd criteria.
    1) this only applies to equipment you have for a slot that has been unlocked - if the slot hasn't yet been unlocked, it will NOT be counted in the notification displayed. An example of this is a level 11 purple crew that has 4 of it's equipment items available in your inventory, but the notification number shows a '1'. only the level 10 slot is unlocked, so the other 3 aren't counted yet.
    2) There is also a display bug that sometimes comes up (I haven't been able to narrow down when it happens yet) where the notification number displayed does NOT get updated properly when the conditions for that crew change (I think it's related to fusing). When this display bug occurs, the only way I know of to reset the error is to restart the game.

If you have two copies of a crew that need fusing, the game counts this as three in the yellow notification number. When you fuse them, the notification number goes down by two (one per crew presumably) but the notification is still one higher than it needs to be. And yes, the only way to correct it seems to be to restart the game. But none of this is relevant to the sort order, it's just yet another bug that'll never be fixed.

Number 2 also includes fusible crew (as mentioned above), and is 1 (or 2 if fusible) for crew that are equipped with 4 items and can be moved to the next set up of ten levels.
