A New Reward Scheme
Many of the Legendary rewards from Events are entirely random and usually redundant for high-level players. For example, most Continuum missions lead to some random legendary drop at the end, which either duplicates ones I've already FF/FE'd or is an entirely new card that I don't want because it only clogs up my crew slots.
One way devs could alleviate this issue would be by coming up with a different reward scheme. Instead of giving out some entirely random rewards (the same for everyone), allow players to pick specific personal ones from a decent array of choices at the start of the event (not at the end). If the array isn't attractive, players could spend Dil to refresh the list and view other choices. These choices should perhaps be limited to crews that can be retrieved. If the event succeeds, the player gets the locked-in personal reward. This would be far more motivating to run the event and an encouragement to spend Dil in the first place.
If a locked-in personal choice is too much trouble code, then instead allow the players to trade in their hard-earned rewards from a catalog of retrievable crew that would be of use to any level of players.
Thoughts?

Beholds should always have an element of chance to them. I got Shinzon this week! Didn't have to pick him but gets me that one step closer to freezing him without citing/retrieving him
We are already getting quantum as a bonus to help get crew that we specifically want
Plus I imagine it would take a bit of time to work on
I disagree. At this point, the way the reward system is structured leads me to ignore events entirely for the reasons I gave in my original post.
Agreed. The behold is worth a lot less than the quantum and dilithium that was reduced.
After all, does anybody really want this?
The issue with rewards is that the value of a premium 10x pull is not what it used to be, given how many crew are now in the portal. Years ago, when there weren't as many crew in the game and long-time players hadn't been playing as long, there was excitement when a premium 10x was unlocked. Now many/most players are lucky to escape a premium 10x pack with 1,000 honor and perhaps a bundle of useful schematics; worst case scenario is the pull I got from my individual rewards tier this weekend - 500 honor and 6 bundles of useless schematics..
Lol. A nice behold. But Ra-ghoratreii is better than 3 duplicate
Anytime its not 3 that I have max stars on I'm happy. Even if its a "garbage" crew.
Agreed. But not by much.
If the reward makes you happy when it provides a crappy card, something is fishy (with the reward, not with you.)
It's a step closer to freeing up a crew slot
We just had a portal update so why does it have to be crew from 2018?
I got 2 copies of the most recent Scotty last week
Unfortunately for veteran players, the limited choices in begolds is just a given now & there's not getting around it
It's why these legendary packs are so pointless for older players. You will 99.99999% have all purps already by this point so what's the point of wasting that dilith on them when it can be spent on quantum instead on a guaranteed crew you need
I sometimes remember to Gauntlet but even this new Worf is not enough to get really interested in that. I tried for nearly 2 full weeks, ran streaks up over 60 every time (and at significant expense) and all I got was a single begold of 3 cards I already had immortalized. I may try again, I may not. I like Worf but not enough to keep sticking my hand in a meat grinder.
I haven't cleared thresholds in a weekend event in a long time as Premium Packs are not worth it and I have more voyage revival tokens than I will ever need.
I have not done a non-endurance Objective Event in many months, those things are resource pits and not good.
The only "rewards" really worth trying for are those really nice voyage legendary cards yet they are hidden behind a wall of RNG so tall I have not been able to ascend to the promised land in many, many months. THAT is something I would actually work and put effort into and it is the one thing nobody can really count on no matter how much they spend.
We've gone from pay-to-win to pain-to-"win?".
Funny, I thought there was more to events than just voyage tokens & premium packs...
He mentioned that he has not cleared. That, is because the top two are voyage revival token and premium pack. He still might get the new superrare crew.
I think the point was, you play an event for the rank and rank rewards. If you are ranking well, you're well past the max threshold reward regardless of what that is.
He does if he wants the event's Legendary reward.
But, he said he has not done it in a while. So obviously, he has not gone for the event's legendary reward.
Quantum isn't as valuable to me at this point. Yes, I can still pull, but the cost to pull is 5 mil credits and the polestars you need. (Note: Ra-ghoratreii is someone I have 1/5, he cost me 250k of the celestial energy stuff to get so I'm a bit jealous). On top of that most of my stars are not retrievable.
I am also glad the Dil is in the second level, it's much easier to get if I don't want to go hard on the missions.
Also I assume most "high-level" players aren't actually upset about the behold. Most are like Bylo and me who are upset by the RNG for Voyage and Gauntlet crew. Honestly, I think the "low-level" players would love if us higher players didn't have to do Gauntlet so they are not always facing top players who have their crew FE with Q equipment.
I wouldn’t assume that. I’m still not a fan of the current continuum mission rewards.
