Fleet admiral has gone missing, and it's not a bug

The admiral of my fleet recently complained of health issues, then vanished. He hasn't been online for 20 days now.

I fear the worst. I feel terrible for him and his loved ones, of course, but it's left me wondering what the rest of the fleet can do in this situation. I've contacted support, but I remember a forum discussion earlier where that did not work out for people. Is merging into another fleet the only solution? The other fleet officers refuse to even consider a merge until we've exhausted all avenues, including posting here.

Does anyone have any other ideas on the matter? If it does come down to a merge being the only option, we won't be able to do it without complete fleet buy-in, so it won't be quick (in other words, don't get your hopes up if you're looking forward to a bunch of new fleet members).

  • Support has helped my previous fleets replace their AWOL admirals before, it's not that uncommon.

    Yeah, I spoke too soon based on my faulty memory. Maybe there was some other exigent circumstance causing problems before, but at any rate, support has got back to me with "We cannot replace an admiral before 30 days have passed; call back then." Which is super reasonable.

    Send the ticket again at 30 days.
