I know there are probably contractual obligations to promote current Star Trek but almost no one cares for Discovery, much less season 5. Would have been cool to have a Spy/undercover operative mega event now that you've finally added the collection.

Hmm……have you done a survey of the fan base? I liked Discovery and enjoyed the final season, but thats just me (or is it?).

Speak for yourself. A lot of us actually did enjoy Discovery, including the final season.
I mean the fact Star Trek TNG used to pull in 20+ million viewers while Star Trek Discovery has fallen off the ratings and hasn't hit a Nielsen top 10 after S2 should speak for itself. But of course, facts don't matter.

"The facts don't matter" he says. as he ignores the facts because they don't agree with his petty little diatribe.

Stupid comparison
No streaming back then, no cable, no internet. Gaming wasn't as big as it used to be
TNG was the first ST show(& still best IMO) in decades so of course people watched it
And no, I'm not defending The Burnham Show. It had good bookend seasons, the rest was awful, as much as I tried to keep an open mind.
All the other Trek shows revolved around crew. This was just a one woman show
Cable television began in the United States as a commercial business in 1950s, and as cable penetration increased, numerous cable-only TV stations were launched since the early 1980s.

Let me expand: how many TV channels/networks were there to watch when TNG was airing?
Also, how many do you have now, plus back then it was only video cassette as additional
Nickelodeon (first kids channel) started in 1979 (the first 5 years completely ad-free), 1980 there were 28 channels, and by the end of the decade (1989) there were already 79. I mean, these numbers aren't equal to no cable (your words). And TNG started late in the 80s (1987).
Cable was already on its triumphal procession while TNG aired (1987-94), before peak during DS9 and at its peak during ENT.

Are you really trying to compare at-home entertainment options of the late 80’s / early 90’s to the 2020’s? Haha let it go
Disco made deliberate choices to differentiate it from past trek shows, in a style designed to try and attract a younger audience. Some choices worked, others were terrible (they almost lost me immediately by unnecessarily changing the look of Klingons). Some fans love it, some hate it. Some just enjoy it for being trek.

I'm just saying that "no cable" is far from right. Of course, times still have heavily changed by then. I ain't denying either. But cable and niche broadcasters were already there, some of them even starting in the 70s.
Literally the link you posted says originals, not top 10 overall.. Anyway, I stand by my statement, TNG and DS9 were peak Star Trek and Discovery is not remotely on the same planet in terms of quality. But my point wasn't to argue which shows were better but that we could and should have had a Spy mega-event rather than Discovery. Those made sense when Discovery launched for the first time, not in the middle of November through the middle of December in 2024 and people, outside of some isolated Trek bubbles, still prefer old Trek to new Trek. We could argue numbers, which speak for themselves mind you, but people flock to get autographs from Shatner much more than whoever plays Burnham.

Again, not a Disco fan but I do think it is fair to give it a mega for its final season & perhaps/hopefully its final mega
And yes people are going to get the Shat's auto probably even over others, not just Martin Green's because reality check: he's 93

On the other hand, by "Booker's Ship" I assume you mean the Nautilus? Why not call it by name?
Lol, the ones who hate Lower Decks are a close second.
We need whales.
