Well. Just went to check on the availability of the new update on the Google Playstore and this popped up...

=GBP= Bear ✭✭✭I was using an S9 before the S20, and during one "issue" with the game, (again, nothing to do with compatibility) someone at CS suggested I upgraded my phone! To say I wasn't happy would be an understatement, particularly as someone in my Fleet had already said the problem was on their end...0

Hoping someone's not done their job right either at Google Playstore or at STT Timelines...
Any clues, devs?
It says it is incomparable with my tablet
It is not available for google play beta
It did upgrade on Steam but when you go to play it says, "game not responding" (** Update, Steam did finely work)
So far, I am not impressed
Seems it's affecting a lot of people...
Hopefully for everyone.
(Unless it just breaks the game...)
<cos that's never happened before!>
So I totally recommend halting the forced upgrade in order to solve this dumb compatibility issue beforehand. I don't buy a new phone for a game running perfectly on my device. I may have spent thousands of bucks for Timelines, but I refuse to throw my perfectly working phone in the trash can for being able to play that game also in the future. I'd rather shift that play time and money used for Timelines totally on my stationary Windows PC back.
No offense meant, just wanting to be honest. I mean, before my S20 FE 5G I used to play Timelines on an S8. Ridiculous.
At the end of the day, we're paying to play a game that's not really fit for purpose anymore. I don't imagine 9yrs ago that the devs expected it to last this long.
They don't have the staff to properly test the new "features", so we end up doing it for them.
If something happens that by chance works in OUR favour, they call it an exploit and start banning players, but when THEY screw it up??
Now I've had chance to chat to some of the players who know more about the game than the staff do, I'm not so concerned about the error messages that the Playstore are displaying, since the issue isn't with Google OR with our devices.
Whether WRG get it fixed on Thursday will remain to be seen, but I can foresee a massive exodus if players on Android can't access the game when the event starts. It will mean compensation all round.
To be honest, I don't like this new event type at all, and I was only going to be playing in order to get the required copies of the purple and gold crew needed the new Tier1 fuse crew.
If I don't get those, there's gonna be pitchforks and burning torches...
I mean, I don't carry my 60 lbs tower of power manly proud in my pants around like the Duke's balls of steel. And a nuclear power cell in my chest like the T-800 to power that thing. LOL
So yeah, I'm with you on the "It's a mobile game" thing.
I neither want nor need advice from the CS agents regarding me installing it on the PC.
I started playing the game in 2016, so I remember all the big changes and all the big screw-ups. It just seems to be happening more and more of late. When I was working and could afford it, I'd buy event packs each week. I shudder to think how much I've invested over the years, and that's probably the main reason I haven't just walked away (plus I genuinely love Star Trek in all its variations), so it's really frustrating to not get the most basic level of service in return.
I'm starting a new job as well this week, which will doubtless cut down on the amount of time I can devote to this game now, but if they don't fix this with the server push, it might be the final straw for me. Eh well.
Oh.
Somebody got a kick up the behind and uploaded the right file this time.
Yes!
It works!
